Aunt Lydia's Tavern was built in the early 1800s. It has undergone many changes over the years. Since 1996 it is the home of the Maine Antique Toy & Art Museum. We display a world class collection of antique toys, Disneyana, original items worn and used by the Movie Cowboy stars, 1977 Star wars, original comic strip art and animation cels. It is a museum enjoyed by adults. Be sure to bring your parents and grand parents. They will have a wonderful return to those thrilling days of yesteryear. Please arrive for the museum before 3pm. Open hours are Memorial Day to Columbus day 10-4pm. We are always closed on Tues & Wed. Columbus Day to Last weekend before Christmas, we open only Sat-Sun 12-4pm. We are closed from Christmas to Memorial day. Thank you.

Highly recommend this museum. Mr. Fawcett has amassed a fantastic collection of antique and more modern day (Star Wars, etc.) toys. The first couple rooms are toys you can purchase and then you go though the gate to the museum which is filled to the brim with so many wonderful things, you're afraid you're going to miss something. Mr. Fawcett... More

There is so much to see at this museum! Give yourself plenty of time! The owner was so thoughtful and informative about not only his toy museum but what to do in the area. The owner told us about Acadia National Park and convinced us to make time on our trip to go and it was definitely worth it! We... More

Don't drive past this antique toy store / museum! Mr. Faucet's collection of antique toys and collectibles is wonderful and we found items we "needed" to buy but the best part is his private collection which makes up the museum, along with Mr. Faucet's broad knowledge of art and history I'm sure this will be a vacation shopping highlight. While... More

We were so impressed by the quality and quantity of antique toys and animation history. John Fawcett provided a tour to us (two adults) along with an additional pair of adults who arrived shortly after us. John knew the history of all of the items and told stories of what those items meant to him personally, as well as how... More

We really enjoyed our visit to the Museum, it was well worth the $6.50 apiece entrance fee. We spent an hour and a half and had my stomach not rumble may have spent even longer. Lot to see and a lot of history about Maine's involvement with the cartoon and entertainment industry. Younger people may be astonished at how we... More

We had passed this venue many times over the years, on our way from Camden to points south, bur, finally, when we had a10-year-old granddaughter to amuse, we took a chance and stopped here. The owner (or manager?) was very welcoming, and so we paid the modest entry fee and started into the labyrinth of nostalgia from my youth in... More

This place is great. My wife and I stopped in and I wish we would have more time to actually do the museum part. Half the place is set up as an antique toy store and there is everything here. The man that runs the place talked to us quite a bit, and was knowledgeable and entertaining about the toys... More

John Fawcett is an artist who happens to love Mickey Mouse and everything Disney, the Lone Ranger, Star Wars, the Red Sox, and much, much more. His "Antique Toy and Art Museum" is packed to the rafters with toys and other memorabilia, mostly from the 1900's, along with a gallery full of his creative and intriguing art, much of it... More

An adventure into the world of vintage toys, western TV shows and Sunday comics. Personalized tour by John the owner who will take you back to the days when the Lone Ranger and Roy Rodgers ruled the airwaves. Incredible collection of Disney toys, original art and memorabilia from the 30's and 40's. The most wondrous place in Maine!
