A beautiful site on Penobscot Bay. The lightkeeper still lives on the property. You can get up close and see everything. On certain days of the year you can go up in the lighthouse. Great site for a picnic!

We rented a house near the for, so we took a walk. I loved the lighthouse area with the apple trees, the beach with rocks and seaweed, the pier and the forest walks.

First you can't go near the lighthouse, because it's a private residence. 2nd there is a honor system charge with a suggested cost of $3. The only interesting thing was the fog bell. Like I said not worth the trip unless you have to see...More

Fort Point State Park is small but has riverside picnic tables, access to the water, the remains of Fort Pownall, and the Fort Point Light Station. There is also nice river views.

I like this privately-owned lighthouse and bell tower, but you can't enter either structure. And there are some nice water views. There are also a couple of picnic tables in this quiet, uncrowded place. Entrance fees are by the honor system, ranging from $4 to...More

Address in Trip Advisor is wrong. This is a private residence. You can get an ok pick of the light house. Unless you are really into Maine light houses there are better options.

Nothing too grandl, just a small, well-maintained park with a cool little lighthouse on the grounds. The beach and dock were nice as well. It wouldn't be a bad place for a picnic on a lazy, sunny day.

I was just there today, yes but it's difficult to climb over the rocks. Got down to the pier area. My kids loved seeing the tide pools and there was barely a soul in sight.
