Combine all that is spectacular about Mount Desert Island, and you will see...

Combine all that is spectacular about Mount Desert Island, and you will see it from another angle on this ocean fishing trip. Not only do we offer a great ½ day or ¾ day trip for you and your friends and family, but we also haul lobster traps for each person on the boat (weather and time permitting). Legal Lobsters are divided or raffled, yours with our compliments! Yes, That is right! Most likely free lobster with your trip! This also gives our guests an idea how lobsters are caught on our Maine Coast.

Enjoy seals, porpoises, eagles, osprey, sea birds and ducks. The 3/4 day fishing trips can take you to Mt Desert Rock Lighthouse (weather permitting). This unique area is where the the Lighthouse is the furthest offshore and the first place the sun rises in the USA, as well as the home to large population of seals, and near the migration area of whales.

This trip is a great trip for kids

Great fishing trip with the family

Having grown up fishing on Long Island I was so happy to have my kids, 9 and 11, enjoy the experience of salt water fishing. Barb was so friendly and informative. It was a great time. I did enjoy the lobster haul at the end of the trip. It was exciting and nice to learn about the process. We left... More

Had a good time but a few improvements needed. Here is the blow to blow of my first ocean fishing trip. There was a strange reservations process. You have to reserve online and then also make a phone call to confirm the reservation. When I called, the women couldn't find my reservation and was a little rude. Turns out she... More

We took our 4 kids (ages 5-11) out for an afternoon half day fishing trip. It cost $59 per adult and $39 per kid. We got lucky with the weather as it was overcast with a little breeze (they said it was calm that morning and the flies were biting on the boat) but clam on the water. The staff... More

About 40 of us left Beal's Lobster Pier on a gray morning for a 3/4 day fishing trip. The Vagabond (our lobster boat) was a little tight, but comfortable enough, especially when people spread out beyond the bench seats. Captain John started with catching lobsters not too far off the coast. Unlike on the half-day tour where lobstering was limited... More

You will NOT be disappointed in this excursion. This is a wonderful family fun expedition for everyone. The crew is AWESOME! They make sure that your trip is a fun and SAFE experience. They can be a bit stern ( little boat humor) but people need to remember that they are putting safety first above all else. After all, that's... More

The captain obviously knew where the fish are and he drove the boat to the particular spot where almost everyone caught fish fairly easily. My kids had a great fun as sometimes they got 3 fish at the same time - each on the 3 hooks of a single rod. Almost all fish caught were pollocks. A few cods caught... More

We are happy that you had a great time and your kids had a good time as well . We try to encourage people to go up to the bow of the boat were they also can fish and there is plenty of room , but you can't force people unfortunately. More

Packed boat with thirty people on board, including 7 loud rowdy children. 8 am charter did not leave the dock until 9 am. Average size of the fish we were catching was 6". I thought we were snag fishing for the bait to catch bigger fish, but later found that this was the bait for the lobster traps. Paid 2... More

Great people, we departed and returned exactly on time, amazing weather. We caught several small fish. We saw seals, dolphins, and a bald eagle. If you are looking to catch large fish this is not your trip.

Thank you for your review ! We are happy you had a good time. Unfortunately some times the larger fish just aren't there , and you have to throw back Cod as well. However if you come back maybe you will be like the people on different trips with larger fish as seen on our web site under Blog and... More

Barb and John do a great job with guests. There is no bait used, so you dont have to worry about that part. They know where the fish are, and we caught scores of pollock and mackerel on our 1/2 day trip. On the way back, John took us to Little Duck Island to see the seal colony. Then, they... More

We are so happy that you had a great trip Want to mention that lobsters are hard to catch at this time of the year because it is Shedder Season. This means that the Lobsters crawl away for a few days to shed their old shells and get new ones. So the picking are pretty slim . Later in the... More
