Took my 14 year old daughter and we had a blast! Felt super safe and everyone we encountered at the shop was super friendly. They provided a dry bag, sunscreen and water shoes which was awesome. Saw seals both on the rocks and in the water, jellyfish, starfish, even a bald eagle and her baby in the nest!! It was... More

Can't say enough about the willingness to go above and beyond so that our entire family could enjoy this experience. We had 3 children with us...ages 9, 10, and 13. None were old enough to kayak alone, so these guys sent an extra guide along on the ride just to row with our son!! Was so nice, they didn't have... More

Allison, I really appreciate this feedback, I began guiding 6 years ago and ever since, my passion has been to say yes-and then figure out the logistics afterwards. Too often the easiest response of "no, we can't accommodate your party" is given- when logistically it isn't that difficult to get most people on the water..in a safe and enjoyable fashion.... More

Our guide, Kris, was excellent. We had several first time kayakers(?) and they all had a great time. Age range- 32 to 64. We saw lots of seals, 5 or 6 eagles, and collected star fish from the rocks along the way.

This was my first time sea kayaking, and Catie our tour guide made it a great experience. Although it was cloudy and a lot of other parties cancelled their reservations, we stuck it out and are very glad we did! The cool weather made it very enjoyable to row long distances, and the lack of direct sunlight made it easy... More

Matt, all of the guides in the state would really appreciate this type of review! As guides, we truly love what we do! Some of our greatest paddles are on days when most of our customers would prefer staying in their rooms sipping coffee, but these are the days that leave some of the greatest impressions! Wildlife doesn't seem to... More

Our tour was great! First off, we arrived on a potentially rainy morning totally underprepared. The folks at Maine State helped us out with rain jackets and even gave my fiancé an extra layer to pack just in case. So nice of them, and though we lucked out and didn't get rained on, we appreciated not being stressed about it... More

Thank you for choosing us as your Sea Kayak outfitter! It is truly the little finishing touches such as extra rain jackets, croakies for glasses, fleeces, sunscreen, etc etc- that sets us apart from any other outfitter. Thank you for choosing us, hope to see you again! More

We loved spending the afternoon on the water, kayaking alongside our guide, Chris. There was a good mix of stopping to hear about the history and wildlife in the area and just kayaking to enjoy the views. We saw an eaglet in its nest and a ton of seals on our trip. I went with my older kids (17,20,21) and... More

Our group ranged in age from 10 to 70, and Maine State Sea Kayak made the half-day tour fun for all of us. The route was lovely, with the wind at our backs, pushing us along. The kayaks were stable and had rudders, which made steering easy. Our guide pointed out sea stars, an eagle's nest, seals. Calm and peaceful,... More

We kayaked with this company on June 22, 2016. We encountered a relatively mild rainstorm and made it through OK and it was a fun adventure. However, not too far away on that same afternoon, two people including a guide drowned and a third person was hospitalized with hypothermia after spending several hours in water in the low 50's. All... More

We are happy that you chose us to keep you safe while paddling, we acknowledge the inherent risks that come from any water sports - especially those involving the ocean. We are fully aware of the tragic accident that happened off the coast of Corea. I must stress several differences In that situation from our operation. We paddle in much... More

We enjoyed our time with Caity. She was very kind and patient with our group. She pointed out the different birds. Including a baby eagle. Seals and starfish too! This is a great company and perfect for a short kayak trip!

Guide was very informative. Explained safety concerns in an easily understood and calm manner and even made sure there was a plan in place if disaster struck. Fortunately, that was not a concern for our journey. We were introduced to our fellow traveling companions to help us feel at ease around each other. At first I was a little hesitant... More
