We were on vacation in southern Maine over Labor Day Weekend. We knew the beaches would be crazy on Labor Day, so we drove inland to find a nice hike. Vaughan State Park was perfect! Easy parking, restrooms (outhouse) at the start of the hike...More

Vaughan Woods State Park is a gem in South Berwick. The trails in the park offer many options for a great walk in the woods. You can loop around more than once, using different paths to change it up. The views along the river are...More

Quiet and peaceful. Beautiful views. The paths have a few roots and rocks which could make it difficult for some.

Shady walk in woods along river called River Run, very nice. Park is not too big but a few loop trails and a moderate work out.

This is a woody hiking area located near the water. The water is easy to see through the trees as you hike. The hiking path is hilly and shaded. This is a very enjoyable hike in the afternoon.

We wind up seeing different things on different days, even on the same trail. Good trail running, bike riding is definitely for the older kids, fun streams.

There is variety here from easy to difficult hiking. The trails include Hamilton House and the site where cows were introduced into North America. Trails also go along river separating New Hampshire and Maine.

The picnic area may not be why you visit. The wonders of pines and brooks and the clean air is why you visit. This would be a fantastic place to bring elementary school children to do a scavenger hunt with a list of things to...More

This park is not far from the center of town, yet it provides several trails that give you great solitude and beautiful nature...the trail goes along side the river and at one point there is a good view of the Hamilton House and a place...More
