They cannot be blamed for not finding a single moose in 4 hours but for the rest - a crowded bus with uncomfortable seats - we felt every bump in the road; whatever the guide knew he did not share it with his passengers. So, it was a journey in silence without commentary

The guide was knowledgeable; I learned several tidbits of info. Paddling on a beautiful pond at sunset is always wonderful. We did not see moose on this Moose Safari, but that is not within the control of the company. I wonder whether they see moose that often from the water. The guide claimed to see moose about 60% of the time but then said that they saw moose on the drive about 50% of the time. I felt that there should have been more safety instruction and guidance on paddling. The launch area is not easy, and we were not instructed on how to launch. The worst part was the 75 minute drive each way in an old, uncomfortable van. That left about a hour for the paddle. I suggest that the guide not be the driver so that he/she can focus on spotting wildlife.

We did both the moose watching canoe tour and the whitewater. For the moose watching tour, we didn’t see any moose, which was slightly unexpected because we had came to the exact same lane a few years ago and saw some, and the lady who was just on the lake saw a moose. Overall I think you’d be better renting a canoe and going out on your own, as there was pretty loud people in our group and you can prevent that by renting. One final note, talking to the locals, it seems the moose are dying out in this area because the ticks kill the baby moose in the winter. White water rafting, on the other hand, was great! The rapids were fun and the guide was excellent. Even though I had fallen out at class 3 rapids 2 times before this trip, I didn’t fall out once, and neither did anyone that day. The food after was nice and I was pleasantly surprised at how enjoyable the entire experience was.

We did the moose safari and we did not get to see a moose, but that isn’t being held against this team. Steph was our guide and she was awesome. Only reason I gave 4/5 stars and not 5/5 is because the van was very sketchy and scary

Our first time, and we were really looking forward to this, especially expecting to see a moose in its natural habitat. Yes, it's clear that this may not happen, and it didn't. We arrived the day before the trip as we had secured a yurt on the property for our convenience. A very nice yurt. Three bunk beds, perfect for the six of us. The yurt came with a heater, a fan, spacious, a nice table with board games, cards and card games, extra blankets, and you can roll up the covers on the screen windows. Also, a clear dome on the roof to watch the stars. Very thoughtful. Outside, a fire pit, grill, raised logs to sit on, volley ball court (dirt), corn hole, frisbee, soccer ball, picnic tables, and a bathhouse that is a minor hike across the stony parking lot. The men's side is quite spacious, but just two toilets, two showers, two sinks, two long benches. The gift shop has everything you need. We liked the yurt, but wish the bathrooms were closer. Very friendly staff. Plenty of parking, Signs for everything so you don't have to wonder. A town nearby, though most things are closed by 8pm. Alright! We were looking forward to 3.5-4 hours on the lake the next morning! We had a very comfortable night in the yurt. The next morning, the first thing was to fill out waivers. The second thing was There will be a 1.25 hour van ride to the pond. What? Wait... 1.25 hours x 2 is 2.5 hours ride, then getting canoes in/out of "pond" (it's really a small lake. A pond is under 10 acres.) A/C in the van at 6am? Stiff breeze on the lake. Dress warmly. We paddled about. No moose. We spent an hour, maybe a little more, canoeing. We did see "wildlife." Crows, three times, a deer, and a fox. Oh, and the consolation prize was a brownie and coffee. I don't drink coffee but the brownie was good. Correct, we can't predict nature. One family was reportedly back for a second attempt after not seeing a moose the first time. Maybe they'll try a third time. Ace, the guide, was very informative, and answered every question. She also had information about stuff we didn't even know about. Despite all this, we think we'll try again, the moossafarri, and also the white water rafting but not sure when. Some fellow yurt dwellers reported that their 4-hour moose-seeing van ride was like riding in a can like sardines. They said they saw one moose, a far off speck. We had 12 in our group, some canoes with three, some with two. We're ready to give this activity a second try.

Russell, Thank you for your thorough and thoughtful review. We appreciate all of your feedback and hope that you do come back again to visit us. Unfortunately yes, the pond is about an hour away from our base location. The reason that we must travel out to this remote area is to completely immerse ourselves and guests in Moose habitat. However, this still does not guarantee our sightings. I hope that we will see you again some day for both a moose tour and whitewater rafting.
