This is a nice small museum spread out over 8 or so buildings. Interesting exhibits, especially with all of the sea captains the town produced. Great boat exhibits. Plan on spending about two hours or so. Right on US 1 in town so very easy...More

Surprisingly fun open air museum, with kid activities, very helpful people in the research library, and even a part how they used to make postcards. Giant camera obscura out front.

An astonishing amount of incredibly crafted ship models and information! Also many full sized boats rescued from salvage. Nice building with kids activities and another where they can dress like lobster men. The postcard exhibit was astonishingly comprehensive and informative- great film! Thanks!

My husband and I spent a very informative and pleasant afternoon in this museum, which deserves to be much better known. During its 80 years of existence, this private museum has developed a very comprehensive, attractive overview of maritime culture, including activities for children. The exhibits...More

We took a rainy day trip to this wonderful place. There are quite a few buildings full of history about the Captains of Searsport, many great boats, and the best part was the history of the post cards that came from a Searsport company. Great...More

Several old buildings to visit with friendly and knowledgeable staff. As we have a seafaring connection going back to that time, it made it all the more interesting for us.
