A wonderful beach to relax, walk and boogie board or surf!

I've been coming to Maine during the summer since I was 4 years old in 1965. Until I was 15, we... read more

Due to the fact that this beach is a bit off the beaten path, and that parking is limited, it is used predominantly by locals and folks vacationing in weekly rental properties in the immediate vicinity. The result is a sand beach of moderate use....More

I've been coming to Maine during the summer since I was 4 years old in 1965. Until I was 15, we stayed at the Atlantic House on Scarborough Beach. After that hotel closed in 1988, I didn't travel to Maine for several years, but resumed...More

We parked along the street like everyone else; we were there about two hours. We never saw any parking signs and had no idea you had to pay to park. We were from out of state and had never been to Maine at all and...More

Higgins beach is no doubt a gem, but that means you need to plan or you won't get to enjoy it. You also probably want to avoid it at high tide as there isn't much beach at all .... but at low tide, it's quite...More

It's a small neighborhood beach. More sand at low tide and a better walk at that time. Best off season so you can find a place to park.

Arrived late in the day - just before thunderstorms, so we managed to get one of the very few parking spaces near the beach.

We stayed at the Higgins Beach Inn, just a short walk to the beach. It’s a lovely, well kept beach. We parked at the Inn and walked down, otherwise you can’t park along the road. There were signs that said parking and areas to change...More

Maybe if I were a surfer, I'd appreciate this beach more, but to me it's just an average beach with no views, unlike Pine Point or the other nearby beaches. It fails by comparison, but it's still a nice beach. I drove past on a...More

Higgins's Beach, just 15 minutes from Pine Point Beach and 5 minutes from Ferry and Scarborough Beach . Not as convenient to park there but there is a town parking lot with very reasonable fees. This is a popular surfing location for Greater Portland

Surfed here at the end of the summer and loved how quiet it was. Definitely the off season when I went but great area. Hard to find parking so you may have to walk but definitely worth it.
