Private Daysails: We love to check out the picturesque lighthouses, watch the lobsterman haul traps, sail amongst the many local schooners, or circumnavigate one of the many small islands in Penobscot Bay. But in the end, we’ll do whatever you want! We love getting out on the water, and sharing this beautiful area. We’ve worked aboard many tall ships, for Outward Bound, and even tugboats. We’ve sailed Rocinante to the Caribbean, Bermuda, Panama and back. But Maine is our favorite place of all!

Wow, what a great offshore expedition. I sail regularly and have taken several ASA courses up through Bareboat Chartering but hadn't done any offshore sailing. I joined a Bermuda to Rockland Maine Expedition and this really added to my sailing experience. I learned a lot, had tons of time helming, saw some incredible sites and met great people. Ben (Skipper & Owner) is a great teacher and has a super personality which makes it all work. Rocinate is a sweet sailing boat and she has a really nice stable motion. I can say that even my daughter who is sensitive to "tippy" boats would feel comfortable here, she has sailed with me on 40'ers and they are fine, but this Norseman 447 really stands up nicely to even big puffs. Get out on the water with the Morse Alpha crew for an unforgettable experience.

Ben took us out for a day sail. I got to be at the helm the entire time! We sailed around the islands outside of Rockland and dodged lobster pots, sailed in fog, and sailed by two awesome lighthouses. Great experience and we will definitely be back (thinking doing an extended sailing charter in the future)

Had the best time sailing on the Rocinante for a 3 hour day trip. Ben is knowledgeable about the area, the sea and most importantly sailing. He is also very friendly And got along with my whole family. We also decided to brave the North Atlantic and take a dip in the ocean and Ben knew the perfect spot. Highly recommend this trip for expert seafarers or newbies like ourselves. We will definitely be sailing with the Rocinante on our next vacation to Maine.

My husband and I spent 5 days on Rocinante with Ben Carey and his co-instructor, Dorothy.
We both have sailing experience, but wanted to learn more and have an overnight sailing experience in the ocean. It was an amazing experience! We all had to take turns doing various jobs on the trip. I really wanted to see what it would be like to live on a sail boat and try my hand at everything from cooking, checking the engine, to planning the next day’s route, and changing the sails based on changing conditions. I got more than I had hoped for in a short 5 days.
Ben and Dorothy were patient and encouraging, as well as, extremely fun to hang out with.
I feel like I gained the confidence I needed to move forward.
Thank you for an extremely memorable and enjoyable experience.

Ben gave us a great tour by water here in Maine. His ship was clean a a comfortable and we both even got to steer for a bit. He’s a terrific guy and w sliced spending a few hours on the water with him learning about the area. Highly recommend him

Fantastic time with Ben! He was knowledge, friendly, excited to be on the water and taught my son and I all about sailing. Worth every penny for a 4 hour sail!

Awesome, family-friendly adventure! Ben was laid-back, fun and answered all our rookie sailing questions 😊 We loved hearing about all his sailing adventures, and he inspired us to get out on the water more. Great trip, highly recommend!
