We walk the Breakwater as often as possible, the last time was Christmas Day, when we had 50 degree weather. A favorite of our family and a great place to take company. Take a lunch and sit at the end and enjoy the view.

A friend took me and my sister out to visit. We got midway to the lighthouse when my sister and friend decided it was too cold to make the trek out. Be careful of the spaces in between the giant slabs of rock/granite. It is quite a distance to get to the actual lighthouse, and I will make it all... More

A very nice walk to get fresh air and scenic beauty. Can get a great tan in the summer and the buoys are beautiful

This isn't an easy hike and anyone venturing out there should be prepared for rapidly changing conditions. The nearly 3/4 mile hike has you looking down the entire time, as large cracks from stone boulders are always looking for a vulnerable ankle or leg. The weather from the start of the hike to the lighthouse changes, as you become acclimated... More

Was a pleasant walk out to the end of the wall on a very pleasant and mild late fall day. Be careful to go only during low tide, as the water can come up and over the wall when the tide comes in or on a rough weather day. You don't want to get caught at the end of the... More

Walking the nearly mile long granite breakwater is always an enjoyable way to spend an hour or so (depending on how fast you walk). I do wish there was a restroom in the lighthouse but understand the difficulty of having such an amenity. A composting toilet might work though.

I was lucky enough to do this on a beautiful day - it is nearly (7/8th) a mile walk out to the lighthouse but the views of the bay all along the way are worth every step. I will be doing this a few times. Make sure you have good shoes on for this as it is not a smooth... More

Took the walk which was very pleasant but it was getting towards sunset and the breakwater rocks and gaps on the path were getting a bit difficult to see so we just sat down and watched the sunset. We'll come a bit earlier next time.

If you're visiting the Midcoast, whether you're a lighthouse enthusiast or not, the breakwater and lighthouse are worth visiting. The walk along the breakwater out to the lighthouse is educational. There is marine life to see, birds to watch and fishing if you so desire. The lighthouse is worth seeing on days when it's open. I find the house to... More

It is a very scenic walk out on the breakwater. Not sure how far out the lighthouse is ( a mile maybe), but it is somewhat of a hike. The rocks you walk on are flat, but they are a bit uneven. You want to make sure you are sure footed, would not recommend this for someone who has difficulty... More
