Our family really enjoyed walking out to the lighthouse. Fortunately the weather was perfect for hiking the granite rocks that pave the way. After reading many reviews I debated on whether to go or not. I'm glad that we did. My biggest concern was that it is important to watch where you are stepping constantly. It was hard for me... My husband and I enjoyed the walk out to the lighthouse. It was very relaxing and worth the hike. Nature at it's finest!

I've visited the breakwater many times. Wonderful walk for anyone, of course with toddlers, might be better to just walk on the beach. Cool and refreshing, great place to walk Fido,Locals fishing, Lobster boats hauling, and Schooners flying! At the end is the lighthouse, with a gift shop inside. Wonderful place to take your lunch, or morning coffee.

Great view of the bay along the way and especially at the top of the lighthouse. We even saw an otter darting between the rocks. Flat walk but have to watch the gaps in between the rocks or I imagine a misstep could lead to a bad sprain or gash. The walk is also quite long, without shade, and there... More

We stopped here for a break during our drive along Coastal Rt. 1 and very glad we did. We enjoyed a leisurely walk along the breakwater while taking in the beautiful views and ocean breezes. Good walking shoes are suggested as the rocks are uneven.

The nearly one mile walk to the lighthouse was nice, but you need to watch your footing on the rocks, so it's not a casual walk. The lighthouse was ok, but we found it more interesting to view when sailing past it the next day.

Loved the nice walk to the lighthouse. The scenery was beautiful. The walk is about 1,lie each way. You walk on the jetty out to the lighthouse . No bathroom . Make sure you bring water. Loved the hike and the scenery it was a. Just see.

Don't go except in good weather, and don't go when it's really windy. Otherwise, lots of fun. We took our small dog, and there were other people with dogs and children. It does take concentration -- you have to watch every footstep -- but well worth it. The lighthouse is only open on weekends (we hadn't realized that) but one... More

As you can see in the pictures, the breakwater light is filled with huge stones to create a pathway. The stones are uneven with gaps. Even thought the walk is beautiful, I was constantly looking at my feet to keep from tripping. The walk is fun and I would do it again. Lots of locals on the walk everyday! I... More
