This place is one that we always go back to, every time we are in Maine. The bells are better than chimes and are made right here. The owner is so friendly and helpful when you ask about other places nearby. We have 2 bells ourselves & now buy them for family. The showroom has a wide selection of bells and other items such as quilts and pottery.

The Fisher family has for years designed, cast & finished an imaginative array of wind chimes and bells... several of which have been in my yard for more than 10 rears, I often give these bells as wedding presents. In addition to the shop you may get lucky enough to learn how they are made and hand produced by skilled artisans who care about the quality of their products.

Stop in and ring all the bells and enjoy the sounds of the sea. You can also take a tour of the foundry on certain days. They have ceramics and Lovell Design jewelry and ornaments. Liza was so helpful.

We had a nice drive from Southwest Harbor today to the Schoodic Peninsula about an hour’s drive from Southwest Harbor. This “crafty” family is very nice, enterprising AND the father, Richard Fisher, was raised in Cohasset, MA. We met Richard and his daughter-in-law, Liza, who also gave us a tour of the foundry

I am renting a VRBO house in Gouldsboro and visited the US Bells store right nearby. Such a crafty family! The cast iron bells, pottery, fine woodworking, and beautiful quilts—all beautifully hand made by this Maine family. I purchased the winter bell and it is hanging on the porch of my rental...so fitting! I am going back this week to get another to compliment this one! They pour the bells on Mon, Tues, and We’d at 11:30....I am hoping to be able to get over there to watch! Definitely put this on your To Do list!

We visited after driving the Schoodic part of the park. Very interesting. We could not bring a bell home in our luggage but will order online.

We visited the showroom and saw the adjacent building where the actual bells are assembled. We were very impressed with how seriously they take their work. Yes, we bought bell wind-chimes.

My husband had bought one of U.S. Bells in Vermont years ago and wanted to see where they were actually made. His daughter in law also was there: she is a potter and creates beautiful things. Ed took the time to not only show his wares, he took Hagen through the foundry and educated him on his craft. What a lovely man. Talented and kind. I think it was the highlight of Hagen‘s visit Downeast! And yes, we bought another bell.

We often bring guests to visit the showroom and possibly share the casting if they happen to be working. We brought my sister and her husband a week ago and they certainly enjoyed the visit.

We had our "door bell" custom made there 16 years ago. The brass looks great and has weathered nicely, and the tassle hasn't hardly aged at all in that time. I've purchased a number of coat hooks to incorporate into my own custom woodworking. They're all top quality! But these are craft pieces and not inexpensive. You will love them as will your great grand children.

Hi Brett and thanks very much for your nice review! Glad you enjoyed your visit and it's great to hear stories of people's bells holding up fine after many years. I guess that's one of the good things about bronze casting- the pieces can endure through generations. Also, thanks for using our coat hooks in your wood work. Best regards from our shop!
