If you want to get up close and personal with Portland’s landmarks, lighthouses and harbor seals AND learn some city history, join Portland Discovery on a Land & Sea Tour! Start your day on board the Discovery trolley as you travel from city streets to rocky coast and make your way to Portland Head Light, Maine’s oldest and most photographed lighthouse! After a break for lunch and shopping in the Old Port, board a classic cruise boat for a 90-minute narrated harbor tour, where you’ll see 4 lighthouses up close, 3 Civil War forts and several of the inner bay islands, including Halfway Rock Ledge, home to many seals and seabirds.

The boat cruise was wonderful and we saw about 5 lighthouses and learned a lot about the city and it’s islands. We loved that the trolley took us out to the lighthouse and also provided history and facts about the city.

It was a great tour, however I think it should be said that the weather is extremely cold on the boat. I had a light jacket and some boat riders had no jackets. It was freezing!

Great tour, primarily due to our professional and knowledgeable tour guide, Peter! We learned a lot about the history and culture of the Portland area. The stop at the Portland Head Light was icing on the cake! Excellent value for this tour!

We did the city & lighthouse tour. Our guide, Gary, was great. He was informative but kept it light and entertaining. Found the city tour part a bit long, would've liked more time to walk around at the lighthouse. Overall, good value for what we...More

We had a wonderful sunset cruise seeing three lighthouses and wonderful narration of Portland informing us how important Portland was to building ships during World War II. We got a tremendous view of Portland lighthouse and sunset
