For our first, and probably last visit to Portland, we wanted to get an overview of this nice city, It has some attractive architecture and interesting history. The trolley tour did just that, covering most of the bases and stopping at the light house for a half hour of photo taking and gift shopping. Glad we did it.

We took the trolley tour which last for an hour and 45 minutes. Our tour guide was a great combo of comic relief and historical insight. Great option if you want a break from shopping/walking around on a hot summer day.

In TA terms, this was a 3 1/2. A pleasant way to spend a couple of hours seeing the entire city on the trolley. Our driver/guide was pleasant, local and knowledgeable. It was a very hot day and it is an pretty open trolley with no AC but we found ourselves to be comfortable.

My husband and I did the lighthouse cruise. It was an enjoyable cruise that was a fun an easy way to see the lighthouses. The 90 minuter cruise gave us a look at 4 lighthouses from a distance. Our tour guide was knowledgeable but the speaker quality wasn't great at time.

Had a most enjoyable and interesting tour with Dan who entertained us with some poetry and song. Loved seeing the city of Portland and some of its landmarks. Gave us a good feel for how to navigate it ourselves after the tour.

The trolley tour is not so great. The bus is not air conditioned so on a hot day you will sweat like crazy as we did. Our driver on Friday July 15 at 11:30 was a nice man and had all the information but was so boring! Bueller, Bueller... After the 105 minute tour was over we got off the... More

Hi SteveWhiz, Thanks for reviewing our Portland City and Lighthouse Tour and sorry to hear you didn't have a better time. Our 11 trolley driver guides all have very different personalities and all of them try to ride the line between humorous and informative, but some certainly end up more on the humorous side and some more informative. As you... More

We took the 90 minute tour which included downtown and a visit to Cape Elizabeth and the Portland Light. Our guide was funny and informative while giving us a great introduction to this very pleasant little city. He also gave us some outstanding dining recommendations. Worth every penny - and I'm glad we took it as our very first activity... More

We were limited on time, so we took the shorter trolley your (Peek at Portland) and the Lighthouse Lovers tour back-to-back. Enjoyed both, but especially our trolley guide JJ. He was knowledgeable, poetic (quoting Longfellow) and hilariously funny throughout the tour. The lighthouse tour cruise was very pleasant and interesting; entire crew did a great job! Well worth the time!

This trolly tour of Portland is absolutely a "must do" to get a taste of what the city is all about. I only wish that we had done it on our first day in Portland. The tour guide was a retired school teacher with a wonderful enthusiasm for his beautiful city. He was simply great. Don't miss out on this... More
