Shipyard Brewing Company is a family owned brewery - rooted in tradition and brimming with innovation. Our award-winning beer is handcrafted by our team of brewers who learned their art from world-renowned master brewer, Alan Pugsley. We are committed to cultivating a new generation of creative, passionate brewers. Our team is constantly exploring innovative and diverse styles of beer through our pilot system at our Portland brewery and our 7-barrel system at Federal Jack's Brew Pub in Kennebunk Harbor. History Established in 1994. In 1994, this family-run brewery set up shop in what was once a maritime foundry on the waterfront of Portland. Starting with our flagship Export Ale, we've produced over 65 handcrafted, traditional beers on in the heart of this vibrant Maine community.

We visited Shipyard Brewing for the purpose of the tasting room. The "gift shop" was gigantic (probably too much so), but we quickly made our way through the merchandise and found the bar. Their brews were nicely categorized and easy to figure out, particularly with...More

We had a private tour because we arrived between the hourly tour. The tasting beers included a choice of any 4 for $6. Beer is delicious, staff is friendly, food is not served here, just bags of snacks available for purchase.

Shipyard brews now come to me and I enjoy them 3 hours away from Portland 3-5 times a week. I drink the Shipyard Seasonal Night Wind and the Monkeyfist.
