Ship traffic here runs the gamut from lobster boats to oil tankers and cruise lines; also look for the many photogenic lighthouses.

I have been to Portland and the Old Port many times and always enjoy myself in and around Casco Bay. So much to see and do. See the sights from the docks, take a ride on the Casco Bay Lines. Take a separate tour or a water taxi. View the many close islands and Bug's Light. Casco Bay is just... More

Summer season-only 10 a.m. daily departure from downtown Portland, takes about two hours (ours took 1:45) to get to Bailey Island-Orr Island at the Cribstone Bridge. Ferry captain provides just the right amount of commentary. Route may vary depending on the weather and captain's whims, and the return trip takes a different route, so you really see a LOT of... Gorgeous sunsets very romantic. Our first time in Maine and it was well worth it. Bring a bottle of wine or stop of at one of the island for lunch. Def worth it.

This was one of the most beautiful, with the friendliest people ever. We enjoyed a walk along the waterfront and came away with some awesome photos, and historical information from a very nice gentleman who just happened to be walking by. I asked him a question regarding one of the buildings, and learned so much more. This is actually a... More

We had a delightful afternoon strolling around Casco Bay and the Old Port. Lots of great shopping and vibrant streets that had a relaxed and safe atmosphere. Stopped by the water taxi terminal and checked out the ferry proces. Saw the live music venue, too, which was a great place to check out the sailboats and the harbor. People here... More

The view is stunning. It's worth getting on a boat and heading out to see the islands. Lots of sailboats and things to see along the way. The coast itself is breathtaking!

How can you not love a wide, perfectly curving, picturesque bay in pristine waters? Bring your camera and prepare for perfect pictures. Be sure to have a lobster roll!
