Went here as part of a bachelorette party and it was fabulous! Lindsey was so helpful not just for this, but she gave us a list of other must sees and restaurants for the rest of our stay. All of the wines and food was delicious. Would definitely go again next time I am in town.

Grippy Tannins is a lovely place with a well curated selection. In addition to retail purchase, you can taste and learn about the wines right there, and prices are very reasonable.

The shop is new to the east end and easy to find when walking about. For us locals it is a wonderful addition to our area. Portland it is said is all about beer, and indeed Shipyard is in a stones throw. The shop offers wine by the glass of all the wines on sale also by the bottle to drink on site or to take away. The staff are particularly friendly and knowledgeable just like the property owner/operator whose long career in alcoholic beverages is more than noticeable. Its a comfy space to relax and enjoy some quality wine. A welcome change from all the craft beers that surround us. Job well done.…

My husband and I visited Grippy Tannins to have a wine tasting and stayed to enjoy a hummus plate and the very engaging, knowledgeable owner and her very friendly employee. The shop does not make their own wine. The owner is an experienced buyer and chooses wines she believes her customers would like to try and own. Her selections are not typical big-market types, but are affordable. The space is inviting and open. If we lived in the area, we would frequent Grippy Tannins!…
