Nice tour and informational

Eric with Explorers city/lighthouse tour was wonderful, very laid back and full of details. Picked up close to Gilberts where we ate good seafood, 1 1/2 hr tour through the city and onto 3 lighthouses. An enjoyable afternoon. Parking close in parking garages available. Would have liked less time at each stop and more time spent driving through the city with history facts, Dropped back at same location where we could walk the town.

Best tour company in Maine

I can tell you 2 things about Eric: he loves Portland, and he loves telling people about Portland.

The whole trip was fantastic. His knowledge of the city, combined with his enthusiasm for sharing, made it one of the best experiences of our trip. And knowing that we supported a family owned and operated small business made it even better.

Would 100% recommend.

Great experience

Would 100% recommend, especially for first time visitors like us. Eric was awesome and entertaining. The meet up was easy and convenient. The accommodations were comfortable. We learned so much about Portland and it’s history, it’s lighthouses, as well as the Lobstering industry. We’re very happy we booked this tour!

This tour was awesome! Eric - Owner and Tour operator was the best. He’s a Maine native and has an immense wealth of history to share about Portland. He touches on all the important aspects that you want to know. He is courteous and very patient. He answers all questions.
I would highly recommend this tour.

Amazing lighthouse tour

My friends and myself are lighthouse fanatics. We all totally enjoyed this lighthouse tour. We have our lighthouse passports and we’re thrilled to get a stamp in our books for each lighthouse we saw. Our tour guide was Eric and we very much enjoyed his knowledge and wit 🤪

Great tour!

The tour was great! Eric was a good wonderful tour guide. Very knowledgeable and is even a lobsterman himself! Took the time to give us history of the area and even went on a walk with us down the path to one of the lighthouses. Definitely worth it!

First tour in a few months- must do

My wife and I visited Portland to celebrate our anniversary. This was the first Portland Explorer tour in 3 months (due to COVID-19) and it did not disappoint! We loved the tour and got to see some amazing lighthouses. We highly recommend!

We’ll worth it!

Eric was an excellent guide and great fun, not to mention a wealth of information. We saw many areas of Portland and South Portland that we never would have stumbled across. And we found his experience as a lobsterman incredibly interesting. If we ever find ourselves in Portland in the future, we’ll definitely take this tour again!

Great Way to Learn about Portland!

I highly recommend embarking on a tour with Portland Explorer! Eric is friendly, welcoming, knowledgeable and a Portland native. He can answer any questions regarding lobstering and is well versed on the history of the city. Do yourself a favor and trust his food recommendations because he absolutely, positively knows what he's talking about!

A Wonderful Afternoon

Eric took our group (2 grandmas and 4 of our granddaughters) on a tour around the Portland area. We loved it! It felt like we were visiting an old friend who was showing us around his hometown. We enjoyed the lighthouses and the seashore--the girls enjoyed hunting for periwinkle snails, and hearing from his experiences with his Dad who has been a lifelong lobster fisherman. If you're in the area, I encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity!
