Cumberland County Civic Center, now known as the Cross Center, is a spacious venue home to the Portland Pirates Professional Hockey Team. Its use is eclectic in that it sponsors various events such as concerts, Ice Capades, and basketball shows. Parking is via garages located near the building. The Cross Center is used extensively during the entire year. Cost of... More

civic center portland maine- several exits to main streets of portland, clean building. I was there with friends for a convention the building was to my surprise larger then I would of guessed by looking at it, it held 5,600 some odd people and did not feel overcrowded at all.

Have enjoyed many shows here throughout the years. Everything from WWE to Alan Jackson. Always have a great time, venders are very nice and offer many choices. Things can get expensive with kids so you should take that into consideration when planning to attend and event.

This place was big, but not too big. It seems you would have a good view even from the seats farthest away. Acoustics were excellent (which isn't always the case with a large venue). Restrooms were clean, plenty of toilets available and never a wait (even for the ladies room), food areas were clean. We'd see a show here again.

We enjoyed a Portland Pirates hockey game here and enjoyed it. A small arena that seems to have great viewing from everywhere. The usual concession areas with a selection of fast food style options. Plenty of parking around the building plus lots of choices if looking for food or drinks.

Overall, it was just an average experience. The sound isn't very good, so the drunk women behind us managed to drown out the show and we missed parts of it. The seats are uncomfortable, and there's no drink holder. Not worth the price of admission.

We were there for the WWE event. It was a great time! The staff was helpful, although it got a little cold!

Come on how can you not visit the place Elvis Presley would have played the day he died? Just knowing they still have a stash of tickets from his 1977 concert inside wows me! How can you pass up the Portland Pirates? It's hockey! The greatest game ever! The food is outstanding! Season tickets behind the players box! Cheering your... More

We came to Portland too see a Pirates game. We were able to get 3 tickets in the 2nd row in a corner with taxes for about $40. If you have ever looked into a NHL game and found it too expensive this is a great way to go. Parking was attached to the center, $7. Great time was had
