About
We are currently open for tastings and sell plenty of year-round and brewery-only beer to go. We are not currently booking brewery tours, but we have a food truck onsite featuring lobster rolls and other tasty treats for you to make a day of it. So if you're in the area, stop by and say hello! Allagash Brewing Company strives to make the best Belgian-inspired beer in the world. Founded in Portland, Maine, the brewery loves giving back to the community—and state—that has supported it since 1995. In 2019 the brewery became a Certified B Corp and Allagash founder Rob Tod won the James Beard Award for Outstanding Wine, Spirits, or Beer Professional. Allagash currently stands as one of the 50 largest craft breweries in the U.S. (by sales volume) and has earned a spot on Maine’s Best Places to Work list for seven years running. Allagash is distributed in: CA, CT, DC, DE, GA, IL (Chicagoland only), MA, MD, ME, NC, NH, NJ, NY, PA, RI, SC, VA, VT, and WI.

First Day Back!
May 2021
We got lucky as we came to Portland for the breweries, and arrived at Allagash (pre-booked) on the first day of re-opening.

Spent way too much money trying every beer on tap, and of course souvenirs.!

This place doesn't need a huge review, it's what you would expect. Despite no tours being available, the staff here were FANTASTIC.

Plenty of other breweries on the same road if you want to sample them all, but as usual we stuck to Allagash on Saturday and would've stayed for 5 more hours if we were allowed.

Very clean, sanitized and we shall return. Thanks Guys!

Good afternoon! Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a nice review and for visiting us on our re-opening day. We're grateful! Thanks for your very kind words. We love, love our Tasting Room staff. They're a pretty special group. They'll all get your feedback, as will their managers, and I know they'll be thrilled. Come back soon. Even though we're booking 90 minute tastings, feel free to come back over the course of several days and get your additional 5 hours in, if you'd like ;-) Take care! Cheers! And thanks again!

Great place, great food. My wife and I spent the 4th of July 2020 weekend in Portland, Maine. We had a great time over there.

Thanks so much for your kind words. I say you celebrate the weekend of the 4th with us again. Make it an annual event?! We've got so many new beers to introduce our friends to this summer. If you're referring to Bite Into Maine, the lobster roll truck, they're amazing!! Thank you from them. And thank you for your support of Allagash, we appreciate it. Cheers!

Beer pickup curbside
Aug 2020 • Solo
Allagash craft beers are great, and I enjoyed drinking Allagash White enough in local restaurants. So, ordered pickup of Allagash Violeta and White from their website for curbside delivery. They open curbside at 10:30 am but you have to wait 1 hour for fulfillment. I picked up at 1pm. Enjoying the wild berry brew beer, thanks Allagash!! Too bad that not all beers are available locally in NYC.

Curbside
Jul 2020
The brewery itself is open but you can’t go inside. You can order online and pick up some beers curbside though. There are three or four other breweries surrounding Allagash in this section.

Good afternoon! My apologies for the delay here, we're whittling away through our reviews. Thanks so much for your review, we appreciate it. Although our brewery is still closed to the public, our outdoor, expanded patio is now open and is pouring a great assortment of beer. We hope you'll come check it out. Thanks for your support of Allagash, we appreciate it! Cheers!

Can’t wait to come back
Jul 2020
This must be one of my favourite brewery’s in the area. Not just the quality and range of beer, but also the staff. On our first visit, we did a tour, which I recommend for first timers. Can’t wait to come back once everything returns to normal.

Amazing beer and amazing people!
Mar 2020
I went with my boyfriend and we did the standard tour. It was so much fun, our tour guide was amazingly friendly and knowledgable. He gave us samples of some of his favorite beers after the tour was over for no additional charge. You can tell the people who work here love the company and the product, they're really socially and environmentally conscious. It was so fun!

I don't even drink beer!
Feb 2020
I am not a beer drinker, my wife is and we stopped in while in town. The staff were SO FRIENDLY, seriously outstanding. They wanted me to find something to enjoy so they gave me some serious tastings. My wife is a beer fan, big time Allagash supporter, I appreciated the customer service and the cleanliness. Kid friendly too.

Great people, great experience!

Highly recommend a visit to Allagash! My girlfriend and I went on the tour with Liz. It was WELL WORTH IT! She was super knowledgeable and we learned a lot. Following the tour, we tried a few flights of beer and chatted with the staff. Bob, Zoe, and the rest of the team were all very friendly, professional, and also gave us a bunch of good restaurant recs in Portland.

Not as spectacular as we had hoped (unfortunately)
Jun 2019 • Couples
We live in Portland and spend a lot of time with friends and family visiting the various brew options. My wife and I decided to visit the Riverside breweries on our anniversary (with the dog). Parked across the street at Definitive Brewing and ventured over. We were met by an employee who needed our ID (makes sense) right? - we are both 58 - had to walk back to the car with the dog to get our ID to prove we were 58. Once in though, we found the atmosphere a bit “yuppie” (like Maine Beer Co), not the gritty hands-on you see in most of Portland, but the beer selection was amazing. Great variety of on tap beers and retired bottles in the coolers. We sampled a few that we can’t get in the stores- they were ok but nothing special. We will continue to buy Allagash in our local store. Wasn’t worth going all the way out to Riverside.
