Whether climbing a mountain, entering a bear's den, role-playing crewmembers on a 40-foot schooner or manning a space shuttle, children will have a blast at this highly interactive museum. Most of the museum is geared to children aged one to 11, but young teens will like the computer lab and the camera exhibits. There's also a play area just for toddlers.

My son is 2 and loves this place. I think it's probably best suited to kids ages 2-7.....older than that might get bored. Its a great space though - highly recommend! T

Great rainy day activity for school age and younger. Multiple floors or hands-on activity for kids to explore. Touch it, squeeze it, crawl through it. Computer activities for kids. Parents can have fun too.

Three story building with activities for kids who like to pretend and imagine. My very active and imaginative 6-year-old wanted to stay all day to play in the pretend fire truck, but my 10-year old was bored quickly. We spent about an hour and a half here. There was a separate play space for kids 2 and under, and an... More

I have an eight year old son that was not impressed by this facility. My poor rating is based on my comparison of this facility to other children's museums we have visited across the country. Perhaps we weren't familiar with everything that was offered, but I really think my son was just too old for what they offered. I thought... More

There are lots of things to amuse kids in this museum. Our 2-year old grandson particularly liked the pneumatic tube apparatus and the fire truck. They have a variety of shows and experiences throughout the day. I recommend going early on weekends to have a much better experience. It's a tight space and your children will have more fun if... Our family (2yr old and 4 yr old) has been coming here for the last 3 years and enjoy it each time. They have been changing the exhibits over the years which is nice. There is a lot of pretend play which the little ones love, but as they get older they might be a little bored. Must go to... More

went here on a rainy morning. would've been a good experience and the museum seems like it would be a lot of fun and had a lot of good hands on exhibits, but... on this particular morning, according to staff, there were some large groups that arrived unannounced. they let them in and the museum was therefore overcrowded and understaffed.... On a recent weekend trip to Portland, we wanted to spend some time doing things the kids love, so we checked out this children's museum (our kids are 6 and 3). We were blown away! All of the play areas are so wonderful - they are simple without being simplistic, and they allow the kids to really use their imagination... More

We have two girls (2 and 4) and we have been to several children's museum and this one was right up there as one of our favorites. We also liked the price which was very reasonable compared to others, I think it was $11 per person, under 3 free. It was packed with exhibits and the kids stayed super busy.... More
