Thank goodness for this refuge for children on rainy days. We had five under tens with us and I enjoyed my two and a half hours at the museum. Very interactive and SAFE! Thank you for saving us on a rainy day in Portland.

My kid liked it. It’s overpriced if your just in town visiting (vs being a “member”). My main problem with it was that it felt dirty. Lights were out and the ceiling panels looked like they had leaks. Lots of thick dust everywhere. When I...More

Came here with a three year old and an 11 month old. Both loved it. For adults this can be a little less enjoyable. There’s an area for young children to play in that requires the removal of shoes that we truly appreciated. Our toddler...More

This is a terrific place to set the kids loose for a fun and educational outing. We visited with our 5- and 8-year-old grands. They explored the top 3 floors. Their favorite spots were the fire truck/station and the 3rd floor color-light-camera obscura exhibit. But,...More

From the long line to enter to the overcrowded interior, it was difficult to enjoy the displays. The loadspeaker announced things happening, but it was not clear when and where. While there were things for small children to do, there were just too many children...More

There would be some things that would be interesting for an 8.5 yo, but the way the museum is set up, it definitely looks younger - things are small/low and most of it seems to be geared to ages 3-6. Each child is different... More

Two hours would be perfectly adequate. The star show and touch tank are really nice programs for the kids. So, you may be there a little longer to get both of those in.
