Love to shop the area and look at all the old buildings and details. Was put off by the volume of street people many displaying large knives on their hips and drinking alcohol in excess out in the open. Also witnessed a number of hand to hand drug transactions on the various streets that make up the area. Everyone for... More

Old Port Portland is an eclectic mix of old and new blending the work-a-day wharf with shops and restaurants on cobbled streets. Stores come and go but there are always fun places to discover with mainstays always delivering. This is a great place to spend the day!

We wanted more "Port" experience. Was hoping for more ships and water access. Needs public restrooms! The one we were directed to was in a parking garage! When we got there, the bathrooms closed at 2:00 on Saturdays! WHAT!!! A Saturday in July, where people are encouraged to walk and shop. Too bad!!

Old port has so many restaurants, bars, small locally owned shops and very nice people. It's one of my most favorite places to visit. Some of the best food in the nation I would say. Novelty shops are abundant, and very interesting to browse through. Cobble streets line the area which makes it even more spectacular. There is so much... More

Looks like people are starting to find the Old Port of Portland a real destination spot. I just moved to Portland as it has so much to offer. More restaurants then you can imagine and the night life is fantastic. Concerts on the pier like the Beach Boys, George Thorogood and others. be sure to take a boat tour like... More

This place might be somewhat overrated. True, it looks good in pictures but once you are there it is very smelly and loud. You could call that authentic but it certainly is not pleasant. The lobster and oyster places have long waiting lists but are actually in the middle of the parking lot.

Plan to spend a day is this lovely old yet still working fishing waterfront. Loaded with shops, restaurants, art and jewelry galleries, cafes, and coffee shops you'll walk for hours drinking in the beauty and scenery. Take a tour if you want! Lots of river views, ocean views, mountain views, and parks in this stunning area so the whole family... More

I found it similar to a mini Seattle. Great shops, fish market, restaurants, vendors selling goodies and very friendly people. Just adorable.
