Portland's Museum of Art is a gem, a must see museum. Its special exhibitions are superb and its Winslow Homer collection is a treasure as it should be for a Maine institution. A tip of the hat should also go to its fine Museum Shop....More

The Portland Museum of Art has more than meets the eye. The regular galleries house some of Maine's finest art, while the beautiful sculpture garden and Victorian home exhibits are not to be missed.

A great way to spend a Friday evening. Right across the street from the Westin. Was amazed at the quality of art on display in a city of less than 70,000.

This is a favorite of ours. Spacious, well lit, and often featuring interesting exhibits, this would be worth a visit.

My friend and I had wanted to visit here for a few years, finally made it. Nice collection of art, a few works by many well known artists. Easily visited for a few hours

Lots of beauty to behold. Not overwhelming in size, but there is plenty to see. There was a great diversity in media and artists: old masters and contemporary artists, plus sculpture, baskets, ceramics, glassware. Parking can be tricky, but this is so worth your effort.
