Although the boat was full on the way over to Monhegan Island, it being a holiday weekend with lots of people & luggage staying over, we were impressed by the efficiency in getting us all on board....More
The crew are thoughtful and helpful. Met some fun and interesting people and enjoyed the time on the water where we spotted dolphins and whales. A great getaway! P.S. Loved singing with new friends on the top deck on the trip back to the mainland.

I took the Monhegan Boat Line ferry to Monhegan Island and then, four days later, back to the mainland. On both trips, I was impressed with the competence, courtesy and overall warm friendliness of every member of the crew.

Thanks for your questions. We only went on the Puffin Tour. I bought tickets in advance since I heard they often fill up. Due to uncertain weather, it was a light passenger load and we could have purchased at the dock but I was glad to have our tickets in hand.
Sorry for the late reply--- we see the puffins late May through mid August. Rarely do you see them on the trip to Monhegan- the puffin/ nature cruise takes you around a seabird island, Eastern Egg Rock where they nest.
