I truly must commend the crew at Monhegan Boat Line, from the cheerful clerks who reserve your spot to the parking attendants (who have hearts of gold), to the Captain and crew on the boat! These folks love what they do, serve others...and help in absolutely every way possible, and with no promotors from clients...these folks know what needs done... More

This is one of the very best things to do in Midcoast Maine. We traveled out there on August 15th. It is surely something we will remember all our lives. The crew is accommodating, the boat was comfortable, we met many great people on board and enjoyed the beautiful trip to the island with my family and dogs. This in... More

We both enjoyed this 3 hour boat ride out to see puffins and other birds. Most of the puffins had left for the season, but the narrator did a great job sighting them and other birds. They provide binoculars, but not enough for everyone, so I suggest bringing your own if you can. We saw puffins in the water and... More

This 2 1/2 hour trip out to Eastern Egg Island is worth the $30 per person. You can experience lobster pots being hauled onto the boat, and can hold a live lobster if you wish. There is extensive information about lobster fishing as well as the waters over which you travel. We saw puffins, bald eagles and cormorants as well... More

For $30, you get about three hours out on the water heading toward an island where puffins breed. First of all, find out if it's puffin season and it was for us, as it was August. We've wanted to see puffins on more than a T-shirt for quite a while, so we were happy to get tickets for this cruise.... More

The crew was great. Frankly the best part of the trip for my group of three was watching them pull up their lobster pots and hearing about the laws etcetera of lobstering in Maine. It is a long ride out to see the Puffins and they ended up being a blip in your binoculars. Tour was a bit long and... More

We have always wanted to see Monhegan and this summer we did it! The trips both ways were on time and pleasant. The rain held off and we even saw a few seals. The captain was pleasant and avoided the non stop jabber of some. We were very satisfied and would recommend them.

Make an early reservation as this is popular. Very well organized, with very friendly staff. We did the day trip to Monhegan on a very hot day so the ride was comfortable. The captain points out interests along the way - sea life, architecture, history, etc.

Wanted to see the Puffins so we were recommended this tour from Port Clyde on the Lady B. It left at 11:30am for 3 hours. $30 was well worth it as we stopped and were shown how they check their lobster traps and got to hold the lobster. Saw dozens of Puffins in water as well as in flight. The... More

Took a lighthouse cruise out of Port Clyde. Saw four lighthouses on route, which were beautiful and expected. I didn't expect to learn so much about lobstering, history and seafaring. Very enjoyable.
