Beautiful views

We visited Park in the evening so there was plenty of parking. Beautiful views of the A's and the boats out there. I love me strong. We really enjoyed our time

In my opinion, this ranks just slightly behind Pemaquid Point Lighthouse, and that is nothing to be ashamed of at all. Some of the views along the walk to the lighthouse from the parking lot are really special. It's a bit of a walk up to the lighthouse, but they are not built for tourists, they are built for a... A short drive and an easy stroll through some lovely coastal woods brings you to the charming Owls Head light. This is not an epic lighthouse excursion. It's an easy jaunt if you're passing through Rockland. It's probably not historic or notable or even distinctive, but it is lovely. The short climb up into the light rewards with great views... Admission to Owls Head State Park is free. There is a mid-sized parking lot; however, this state park is very popular so parking can be a challenge. Visitors can enjoy a picnic in a grove, do some light hiking, walk to the small beach to get views of Rockland, or hike to the 30-foot-high Owls Head Lighthouse grounds over a... More

Easy walk to lighthouse. 53 stairs on one long run. The lighthouse is not open to the public. Nice walking paths. Beautiful scenery! Lots of birds! Beach and picnic areas! Lovely.

My husband and I have sought the views of lighthouses while traveling to coastal or lakeside locations over the past 25 years. Rarely, we find a lighthouse that doesn't really meet our expectations. Owl's Head is one on the list of "Been There, Done That." We will not need to repeat the trip there. Owl's Head is a short tower... More

Just a short drive from Rockland. There's plenty of parking and the short distance to the lighthouse offers a glimpse of the spectacular views of Maine's rocky coast line. It was a beautiful day when we were there with plenty of sailboats out on the water. Take the stairs up to the lighthouse. There's a donation of $1 to climb... More

A little drive out of the main city areas, but a beautiful drive. The scenery was amazing. There are picnic tables if you want to take lunch and relax. The lighthouse is on a small bluff with spectacular views. We didn't see any park personnel so you really just walk and look around.

Owl's Head Park and Lighthouse are just a short drive south of downtown Rockland, Maine. Maybe 10 minutes or so. Convenient parking lot with just a short walk to the lighthouse. 52 step staircase up to the actual lighthouse. Maybe a bit much for older seniors. Great ocean views from the parking lot and the trail up to the lighthouse.... More

Visited on a cold and windy day, but it didnt hamper the views and the nice guides who answered all our questions and gave us a lot of information. Beautiful drive just getting to the place
