My wife and I were visiting this region of Maine (staying in Cundys Harbor) for a week and wound up going to this beach 3 times! It's one of the most beautiful beaches in the world in my opinion.

So beautiful. When the tide is low you can walk out to the rocky island. At high tide you have waves coming at you from multiple directions if you stand in the right spots or you can choose to body surf, wave watch, build a sand castle. There are clean modern bathrooms & changing rooms.. There are only outdoor rinsing... More

Recently visited this beautiful beach! Parking fills up fast so plan accordingly. We had to park outside the gate but we were allowed to park on the side of the road. Not sure how often they do this. We arrived around 11am on a Friday and it was already full. We didn't have to pay to park but did have... More

I love this area of Maine. It is a very laid back area, and we love Spinneys for food and lodging. This time around we made a point to see the fuss about Fox Island and low tide time at Popham State Beach. It was awesome! We went early in the morning and parked outside of the park since it... We drove out of our way to come here. We didn't even go in. For out of state residents it costs more money. Its a state park park. It was going to cost about $20 for swimming. We have a close state park and they only charge $7 per vehicle. Don't charge more for out of state. Its a tourist... More

This is one of the most beautiful beaches in all of Maine. This is a large beach, which is hard to fine in this area. At low tide you can walk over to the small island and climb the rocks. There is one very large problem.....the Sea Gulls are the most aggressive in all of Maine. As a summer resident... More

I would highly recommend this to anyone in the area. The parking is per person and can be pricey if you have a car-full. The lifeguards are right on the ball and are definitely safety aware. The beach is clean, large and there are bathrooms. Would be great if there were a place to get something to eat, but that... More

We saw this beach on a fishing trip and it took about 15 minutes to get there by boat. But by car it's about 50 minutes.Worth every minute.

In Maine, you have to search for a beach, but search no more. About 20 minutes out of Bath, is this State Park beach. Being from Florida, I've seen a fair amount of beaches, but take it from me, this one is huge. The walk down to the water, I'd estimate is about 3 blocks long. And the beach is... More
