Bring a book, a blanket, sunscreen if you need it and plan to relax. Each year the landscape changes a little depending upon the winter erosion. This year the beach was expansive. you could easily find privacy and solitude if so desired. Once that parking is filled- that is it. Don't leave your bags unattended... Seagulls... know the word.. This is a huge picturesque beach with a rocky island nearby that you can walk out to and explore during low tide. Sometimes the water is in the mid 60's and so easy to swim in.

We went to Popham beach on Aug 6. Fine beach and nice location. Good for weekend drive. Water was bit warm at that time , we enjoyed the beach shore , walking on the sandy beach , swimming lot of fun ..... Nice time ..

I've always wanted to walk to the Island. Today we made it JUST as the tide was coming in. No time to explore this time but I can say "I made it." It is a long walk across beach sand to get to the water. The restrooms were very clean. Picnic tables are in another area and with a "GULL"... More

most beautiful beach we have been to in years. Highly recommend going at low tide and walking across sand bar.

We drove here from the sebasco harbor resort and it was well worth it! A beautiful sandy beach stretching for what seemed like miles! Facilities included restrooms and dressing areas but no vendors. You pay to park but it's not too expensive. There's plenty of space for everyone so even though it gets busy it's not overcrowded. Enjoyed watching the... More

We've been going here every summer for 40+ years. The beach changes every season based on the flow of the Morse River and storms, but the constant is the sand bar out to Fox Island which you can walk on at low tide. Cold water, great sand, fantastic views! They also have restroom facilities at both ends.

Stopped by for a late morning trip to the beach and had a bit of a sticker shock with the $8 per person price for non Maine residents. But the park is well maintained and the beach is nice for being so far north.

Enjoyed walking the beach at low tide. Loved the ledges and the views. I was surprised that on a gorgeous day there were not too many people. Restrooms were clean.

This beach is HUGE. Long walk from car to beach, so be prepared. Also a lot of mosquitos during your walk but none on the beach. Once you get to the beach there are tons of things to see and do. Tons of rock formations and tide pools. Life guards in the water too. This year the water was pretty... More
