The beach is very clean. Plenty of room to set up umbrellas or pop-up, even at high tide. Not too cold.

Lots of sandy beaches and can get crowded over the summer but what do you expect when people head to the beach! Lots of areas to explore!

Very gentle waves but cold water and below normal temps kept most people but the bravest on land during our 4 day stay at beginning of July. No local boating places for rentals a big negative for me. Bring your own equipment and a dry suit for great sail-boarding locale.

We go to OOB every year. It's s great family place with something for everyone. The water is always cold but we still all enjoy our beach days

The good news first. This is a beautiful and expansive beach with a tremendous pier offering plenty of places to eat, drink and shop. In addition to the pier, there are plenty of other restaurants and bars literally steps off the sand. There's also a carnival style midway, also steps from the beach, complete with a ferris wheel and many... More

Way to bussy for my taste. It's like Virginia Beach. Amusement Park and tourists standing in long lines for everything. Cracy. Luckily we stayed just a bit outside of town. The beaches and the ocean are very nice but way to crowded. But we should have known that. High season. But nice location for day trips. Next time we come... More

The beach sand was soft, clean, and the water was beautiful, clear with not very big waves. Perfect for kids and families. It was very crowded the day we went, but we were able to find a spot for our family of four and people are polite and considerate. We parked about two blocks up, right off the main drag... More

It is a really nice beach with waves. We've had our first experience there thanks to Corner's shop that offered free surf lesson. (you just need to rent the surf and there you have a one hour lesson for free). The arcade games close by are also very fun. We enjoy that beach a lot.

OOB is a pleasant little town on the coast of Maine offering miles of gorgeous beaches, a beach-side amusement park and lots of shops and eating establishments. A fun, family-oriented community that isn't afraid to let its hair down and party on the weekends. Weekly (Th night) fireworks shows throughout the summer.

The sandy beach was nice with beautiful clean water however, it was very crowded. Personally not for me. Parking is very expensive! If you are staying anywhere with access to the Trolley service, take advantage.
