Beautiful beach with great sand
May 2021 • Friends
We came to this beach at the beginning of May, so it was too cold to go swimming. It was not crowded at all. The beach was great to walk along and we saw several different birds, including a bald eagle. I recommend bring binoculars. We will definitely be going back.

Beautiful fall day

Perfect sandy beach. Few shells to pick up. Private at the Northern end, but really lovely to walk. In season expensive parking is available though it's free off season. In season, there are bathrooms available.

Great stop

We googled things to do in Ogunquit and this bridge popped up. Easy to get to and parking was as well. We walked to the footbridge when the tide was coming in and that made for a unique experience. There are a couple of walking trails on the other side of the bridge that we did not take, but would recommend.

Serene setting

For me, this area was quieter than Ogunquit Beach. The clear waters and beautiful views were a plus. It was mentioned to me by a local resident that this beach was once named #1 beach in the U.S. by Rolling Stone magazine.

What's not to love

Trying to locate Ogunquit beach via GPS, which lead us to a neighborhood. So we tried Foodbridge beach instead which is adjacent and with a public parking lot.

Parking is free off season (October). Easy walk over the wooden bridge to the beautiful beach. Just beautiful, wide clean soft sand. Could walk miles along the water.

Very dog friendly and even bikes on the beach.

Constant party
Sep 2020
I hate to be the bad guy but even after being home for a week my blood boils thinking of these 3 nights.
First off our reservation was Friday sat Sunday. I tried to cancel Friday 1 week ahead due to medical time off with family but did not go into detail with Scott. He said sorry you will be charged the full night . I said how about if we do the sat and Sunday and pick up the Friday on our way back from Acadia ? again sorry. Now rules are rules but this is off season. I am sure he could have tried .
Anyways we kept reservations as planned . Got to the hotel and there was a note on the door he was at the pool. I went to the pool and he was sitting at a table with a large group of people . He came to the reservation desk which was like a 4x4 with no mask on. He gave us the key and said everything he can not do for us like housekeeping coffee etc.. Fair enough its covid we were to text if we needed anything .
The room was Extremely clean and comfortable. The Big problem was his constant party . He told me 2x there was a group from NY who were celebrating a birthday. Clearly they come every year as they claimed the entire facility. This "complex "is very small .I told my husband if it was crowded it would be a problem as the pool is in the parking lot and sitting area was spilling into the turn around driveway. However being off season I thought it would be OK. From sun up to late at night he had music going. Nice music we like country but way too loud. Like I would hate to be a neighbor. Constant gathering to the point we felt like outsiders at someone's party. There was never room for us to enjoy the heated porch as they were always there smoking and drinking . They played cornhole in the driveway in the dark outside our room. constant thumping of the bags and the music. the second night i at 9:30 I texted Scott and asked if there was a quiet time and he said 11. I told him that was too late and i feel like i am at a family reunion/ frat party. He turned the music down. the next day an older couple and a couple with kids came . I do not think they would have acted like that had there been other people. I Think it was us and them so they didn't care how we felt.
It was very unprofessional and I have been to Maine over 30 years and will Never try this again. . Beware next September to whoever books while this fire dept. is there. He really needs to have them book the whole place or let people know. It was extremely uncomfortable. And ... I hardly ever write bad reviews.

Great Beach

Nice wide beach with plenty of room for social distancing. Nice beach to walk toward center of town for restaurants and a great bakery with a nice assortment of muffins.

Footbridge beach is a great place to spend a few days enjoying the sun, sand and sea. There is ample parking, at $25 for the day, restrooms, the beach is very wide and there are lifeguards.

Gorgeous!

This part of the beach is not as crowded as the main access entry, but equally beautiful! Same sand, same surf, less people!
