Wonderful conversation. learning, and hospitality we have so much to take home and practice before our pizza oven is ready. I would recommend this to anyone visiting the area it just doesn’t get any better. I have to say my second visit was even better than the first and I thought that was spectacular! Can’t wait until the next visit

It was an amazing night. Beautiful venue the weather was amazing and the group for the class was delightful. I so needed this break and laughs as work is always brutal and my weekends in Maine are my escape. Sadly- I couldn’t escape because as an amazing evening unfolded the chef/jillyanne chose to intersperse political rhetoric. Comments about the border as we talked about placement of the sauce in relation to the pizza border- whether or not we should be happy to be an American etc. it was a gut punch. She commented she couldn’t even watch TV - confirming the unpleasant climate of politics but yet she chose to bring it to us in the context of what would have been a perfect evening at a not inexpensive price. The political rhetoric was just the one “topping” to what would have been an amazing evening that I just couldn’t stomach.

Dear 147Adventure, Thank you for appreciating that it was an amazing night and an amazing venue. The pictures you and I took show what delicious fun everyone had. We also are glad you thanked us in person for accommodating your guest who unfortunately arrived an hour late. We try to be humorous and gracious hosts. We welcome all people and all perspectives at Jillyanna’s and we try to keep the conversation light and humorous and food focused, even when current political events are mentioned. So sorry that some of my humor was lost on you. The good news is that you told me in person how much you loved the salads, the pizza, the dessert and the instruction. We certainly hope you will return to Jillyanna’s.

Wonderful way to spend a Saturday night!

We had booked a private pasta party for our family and we were greatly looking forward to it for some time now. It certainly did not disappoint!

Jillyanna is a master of her craft and has sought out amazing techniques and recipes to share with us. We had a blast making pasta and the end result was magnificent. I think we will be thinking about homemade pasta with Bolognese for a while now, and the best part is she made us feel like it's achievable to do on our own.

The class is educational and also very delicious. It's well planned to maximize learning many recipes all while making sure you leave with a full and happy tummy. She also had some amazing helpers, Valerie and Rick who were just awesome!

We walked away with so many great tips and we will surely come back for the pizza making class someday. If you're thinking about a memorable and special night, definitely do a class at Jillyanna's. It was such a great experience!

Fun and Very Educational

Just completed the wood fired pizza class last Friday with my husband and 3 very nice people from Florida. Jill and Valerie, along with dog Oliver, were extremely welcoming. If you are thinking of taking one of Jill’s classes, do it. We learned so much, food and recipes were delicious, and Jill’s knowledge and instruction unbeatable. The preparation and instruction ran like a well oiled machine. All was done in the perfect setting of their beautiful home. Had a wonderful time.

If you ever wanted to learn how real food is made, jillyannas will show you how. Perfect for a group, they show you the whole process and let you taste the fruit of your labor. We went as a small business group and had a blast! Highly recommended.

preparation of a Thanksgiving dinner-lessons and dining
Nov 2017 • Couples
Arrived on a cool Maine evening. Wood fired grill was fired up -big green egg was ready
to cook the turkey and stuffing and scalloped potato casserole . Preparation of a savory duck breast was demonstrated and taste tested while cranberry relish and mesclun salad with pomegranate was prepared by the class- salad finished with a cherry vinaigrette. we came away -making new friends, learning cooking techniques and enjoying a fine dinner. A destination for us in the future. Could not have been better. Oh and the stuffed mushrooms and braised brussel sprouts with prosciutto AND so much fun.

Jillyanna's was a great fun night! Met lots of new people and had a lot of fun trading notes, ideas and experiences. I think there is a little bit of something for everyone from the novice to the experienced! Nice indoor and outdoor kitchen set-ups! I would love to replicate the outdoor brick oven!

Hope we get to do it again sometime in the future when we are back in New England!

Jillyanna's was a unique experience, deffinately a fun night. When we arrived, Jillyanna was reviewing the menu and explaining the cooking equipment that would be used. The Memphis Smoker was very interesting and the Big Green Egg has always interested me. Much of the food was prepared ahead of time but Jillyanna did go over the rub and bbq sauce in detail. Discussion on preparation of the pork butt was interesting and turned out very tasty. All the items were really very good and the communal nature of the event was a high point.
If you are a neophite at cooking, this will be both educational as well as very fun. If you have some experience or skills you will still pick up some new point and have a blast with the group. I would recommend Jillyanna's woodfired cooking school as a fun evening doing something different.

On vacation you have time to learn new things and Jillyanna's is the place to learn some new cooking tips and recipes and have fun in the process. I took the sweet and savory pie class and loved it. The pizza options sound fun as well. It was well organized and delicious. Check it out!
