About Rugosa Lobster Tours
This is a demonstration of lobster fishing and information about lobster biology, Maine lobster fisheries, commercial aspects of the fishery and last but not least, some local history. Fun for the whole family. The Rugosa is a real wooden lobster boat out on the Gulf of Maine and in terms of information shared by the tour guide, children must be at least 6 years. Very young children can be a distraction to the rest of the guests aboard the boat, enjoying the presentation. THIS YEAR BECAUSE OF THE COVID-19 CRISIS, WE WILL BE TAKING ONLY 10 PEOPLE PER TRIP FOR SOCIAL DISTANCING AND WILL USE ALL PRECAUTIONS TO KEEP EVERYONE SAFE.

This was fantastic. Captain Bob and his first mate Jessie made sure all on the tour had the very best experience. I get terribly seasick but they provided sea bands and it was smooth sailing. We even got to see the Bush Complex up close. Highly recommend this tour.

I highly recommend Rugosa Lobster Tours when you are in Kennebunkport. The experience was exceptional and very informative. The captain and 1st mate are extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the Lobster Industry. They caught numerous lobsters during our trip and explained how the industry worked, how it was regulated, and why it was important to keep it sustainable. This was a great experience for kids and adults and safety was their #1 concern.

We loved our lobster boat tour our first full day in Maine. Great intro to a week of some great meals with lobster. The smaller boat and patrons were appreciated as we had hands on experiences and time for questions. Very friendly and fun guides that seem to love sharing their experience and knowledge. Highly rec and great price too.

In the past, I've taken friends on lobster boat tours but Captain Bob's is by far the best along the Kennebunk River. The demonstrations and the scientific and anatomic information were exceptional. After hauling the traps and returning the lobsters to the sea, we cruised to Walker Point for a photo opportunity. The time flew by and everyone on board got involved and enjoyed the experience. Don't miss it when in the Kennebunks.

Excellent excursion! Worth your time & money. Great demonstrations of how lobstermen work their traps. Bob & his first mate are extremely knowledgeable about all aspects of the lobster. They also explain steps being taken to stop the depletion of lobster fisheries.
