Description:

This is a demonstration of lobster fishing and information about lobster...

This is a demonstration of lobster fishing and information about lobster biology, Maine lobster fisheries, commercial aspects of the fishery and last but not least, some local history. Fun for the whole family.

The Rugosa is a real wooden lobster boat out on the Gulf of Maine and is not really appropriate for children under 4 years of age. There are no facilities for baby changing and very young children are often times, a distraction to the rest of the guests aboard the boat enjoying the presentation. Baby sitting services are available in the area and the Nonantum resort has the contact info for these services.

Captain Bob and AnnMarie are great hosts. This is an easy and reasonably priced tour of the Kennebunkport Harbor area. And you're gonna learn a lot about lobsters. Really cool view of the Bush Family compound on Walkers Point.

We chose this particular tour because it was smaller than another competitor. We made the right choice! Our 8-year old daughter (and us!) really enjoyed it. It was hands on and we all learned a lot. The 2 guides were incredibly personable & funny. Highly recommend!

A big thanks to Captain Bob and AnnMarie for a terrific 1.5 hours aboard the Rugosa lobster boat! The "hands on" approach to the educational portion of the trip was fun for kids and adults alike. We learned many facts about lobsters and the lobstering industry and Captain Bob and AnnMarie were more than happy to answer all questions, often... More

We chose to take a tour aboard the Rugosa after seeing the reviews here on Tripadvisor. What a great time! We all learned so much about lobsters, and about the industry in general. Captain Bob and Phil (i hope that was his name) are smart, professional, funny, and so down to Earth. The pride and love they have for what... More

We had a great time with Capt. Bob and AnnMarie aboard the Rugosa. Great to learn so much about the lobsters, fishing in Maine and seeing them fresh from the sea. Beautiful small lobster boat which made for a friendly and informative 90 minutes out at sea. Definitely the highlight of our weekend.

Our family attended this 1.5 hour lobster tour boat because we signed up in our hotel - the Nonantum. So it was very easy and convenient to sign up and attend, as the Rugosa picks you up there. The captain and his co-captain were so knowledgeable, interesting and kind. They explained anything and everything about lobsters - how they are... More

We joined the tour and found out many interesting things about lobster catch, including a very fine law that should be followed by all fisherman. The trip was fun and the captain including crews were all very kind. Captain even gave the chance for children to navigate the boat.

In addition to the great views on the water, this was a fun and educational trip for me and the kids. You sail out of the Nonantum Resort dock and see some great coastal views and homes including Walker Point (Former Pres Bush. #41), who happened to be there during the tour. Actual lobster traps (theirs!) are pulled and you... More

I time my 20 year old daughter on the trip and plan to take my father in the future. Great scenery! Both the captain and first mate are wonderful hosts who show great attention to ensuring you are having a great tour. You will learn a lot about lobster biology, get to handle lobsters, and experience a nice boat ride.
