About
Walker's Point is the picturesque oceanfront estate in Kennebunkport that's been a summer retreat for the Bush family for decades, including former President George H.W. Bush. Though the estate is still a private residence of the Bush family and off-limits, you can stop by Blowing Cave Park on Ocean Avenue and the overlook to catch a glimpse of the stunning property and enjoy the crashing waves against the rocky coast. It's worth a stop if you're taking the scenic drive along the coast, where you'll be able to spot other beautiful seafront villas. – Tripadvisor

Couldn't drive up the coast of Maine without stopping in Kennebunkport and checking out Walker's Point, where the Bush Family summer home is located. Drive out Ocean Ave. until you get to Bowling Cave Park (where there is 15-minute roadside parking for about 5 cars); walk down the path to see across the cove and enjoy the view of the Bush compound from the sea back to the road. Gated entrance with the Secret Service just inside (check out the black SUVs with tinted windows). The house closest to the sea is the main house; the flag was up! Maybe George "43" and Laura were in residence!! There is a memorial to George H.W. Bush "41", an anchor honoring his service and his ties to Kennebunkport. After hearing about Walker's Point for so many years, and as a fan of Presidential sites, I'm glad we stopped here!

Loved being able to see the summer home of George H.W. Bush, which is still used by the Bush Family. When they are in residence, the flag is flying and you can see all the secret service cars on the property, of course only at a distance. There is a wonderful monument called Anchor to Windward dedicated to President Bush from the townspeople. It is right on Ocean Avenue and is ideally located so that you can take a picture of the monument with the family house in the background. If you are lucky you can see a waterspout forced by the incoming tide right at Cape Arundel near Walker's Point. There is a designated parking area available for tourists to make a short stop to get pictures of these sites.

Tourists parked on the side of the road to gawk at the wave-wracked estate. While we walked past, four vehicles on the estate’s driveway disgorged passengers. Two of them were black hearse-like SUVs with Secret Service details. The estate itself was neither particularly large nor especially scenic. Were it not for its summer use by two presidents, it’d hardly attract notice. As it was, it had become a tourist magnet, where fans of history and politics came to witness history and pay respects. Roadside parking was scarce on the road near the point, yet traffic was fairly light for a summer weekend afternoon. We appreciated all that we saw here, but we wouldn’t make a special trip just to see it.

Nice long walk. Easy footing, sidewalks throughout, no steepness. A good walk for all abilities, just keep in mind that making it all the way to the Walker's Point vantage takes about 45-60 mins. Also you don't get close to Walker's Point, you see it in the distance - a little underwhelming. Beautiful houses along the way though. On the way back, sunset happy hour and specials at Stripers were great!

We took a scenic boat tour in Kennebunkport but really it was just a ride out to Walker’s Point and back. We had a much better view from the road that goes right by the house. It is an interesting story of 3+ generations landing here and building it up to what it is today, a sprawling multi home estate on a beautiful point that reaches beautifully out into the sea. It’s definitely worth a drive by.

You can get views of the main Bush house and all the other houses from Ocean Avenue. I'm so happy we finally got to see the house. I never thought it would be so easy to find and see. A must see if you're in the area. There are signs saying no parking busses and RVs leading up to the property. Another clear giveaway that you're at the right house is the gatehouse and flag pole.

This is a must see if you are in the area. Walker's point was named after the Bush family. Yes, they presidents. The property has been with the family for decades. There is a little pull off you can stop and see the entire property. You cannot enter the property at all. There is an anchor and plaque at the pull off honoring George H.W. Bush. It's a quick stop, but the view is great and its kind of a piece of history.

Lovely and serene spot to walk along the waters edge. Great views of the ocean, but no beaches. Stop at the Colony Hotel, facing Walker’s Point, at the end of Ocean Avenue, for a beverage in the historic lobby.

This is a place we go to every year. We love to park at the overlook nearby and enjoy our morning coffee looking at the ocean. It is just a really special experience. We have even gone just as the sun set to enjoy the view. Highly recommend it.
