Saturday morning Breakfast

Customer service was very good. Food was very nice also. We both had the Smashed avocado and Basil Pesto, with tomatoes that had a balsamic glaze. This arrived with toasted bread....Very good combination.

Dam visit
Mar 2021
Visited the Hinze dam last week when we heard the spillway was overflowing and it would be great for a few 'shots'. Being a Friday, there were only a few people there so nice to have a quiet look around. Beautiful weather with a soft breeze coming off the water. A great place out for families and young ones learning that our water 'doesn't just come from the tap.' A delightful café/restaurant (observing Covid protocol) up top with a beautiful view. We didn't stop for lunch, although, I indulged in the most SCRUMPTIOUS strawberry ice-cream cone I have EVER had! full of whole strawberry pieces that tantalised my taste buds as we sat in the breeze. The whole place was scrupulously clean, the staff were warm and friendly and the surrounds were very peaceful. Good disabled parking and access as well which was a bonus. Well worth a look see! Walking across the dam wall, makes you realise how small we humans are.

A scenic dam with an expensive cafe.

Not necessarily bad just not worth a special trip. We stopped by here on the way back from Springbrook. We grabbed a coffee.. looked at the views and then walked along the dam wall. Probably spent about 1h here. You can get Scooters and go over the dam to a few little paths on the other side. Kill some time

Good walking or biking.

This is my go to for walks up from the bottom car park, across the dam wall then down again. Can't do it in summer though, as way too hot. There are bike tracks too. Always lots of people. BBQs are not all in good spots as you just look at the dam wall. Nice food and interesting info centre.

Drive to the dam wasn’t long considering I live in Brisbane CBD.
Beautiful day, had coffee in cafe. A bit expensive to be honest. Small cup coffee $5. Fish and Chips, chicken burger $19.50 each.
Enjoyed a good casual walk across the dam was nice. Interesting read along the walk.
Would encourage a trip to the dam just to enjoy a casual walk, absorb some sun.
Alternatively pack a picnic basket. Sit meters from the waters edge.

Cafe needs to re-open
May 2020
Ample parking, spacious platform , open bathrooms, and yet the cafe is not open for takeaway or anything. It could easily accomodate physical distancing.

Anyway, always a lovely outlook and stroll along the causeway

A wonderful piece of human craftsmanship

The dam is further out from Gold Coast and is a site for serious tourists who want to see man-made structures; very comfortable parking facility and you can visit the Dam Museum after a walk on the Dam Bridge.

Fabulous breakfast
Dec 2019
In the ten years we’ve been on the coast, this was only the second time I’ve been to the Cafe at Hinze Dam. The food was exquisite, I mad a pork home made sausage roll with the best chips I’ve eaten in years and a salad. Coffee was also outstanding. For a place so close to our house we will come back again sooner rather than later.

What a beautiful spot. So tranquil and relaxing. They have a lot of parking, great with facilities for those who have boats, and the views!
