This review for cafe only. We ordered Scone with jam and cream. Sadly cream was straight out of a can. How hard is it for a restaurant to whip a bit of Fresh cream? The Scone was dense anyway so all round a bad choice....More

A slightly rainy day on the Gold Coast so we drove up to Tamborine, stopping at Hinze dam on the way. The view was okay (lots of foreign tourists were taking lots of photos).

Outstanding views The walk along the top of the Dam is just over two K, ok for wheelchair access. The cafe is the perfect place to sit and enjoy the views as you enjoy the good food and drink at the end of your walk....More

Bring a picnic explore the Bush below the dam then get the kids to scooter across the dam 😀 No where near the space to picnic that was around in the 80’s but a nice place to chill with friends and family.

This is a good place to take visitors or just yourself. Very impressive since the Dam wall was raised. Currently it is near capacity and a great spectacle.

It was, as expected, an impressive structure. Our visit would have been better if the visitor centre and cafe had been open when we were there (4.15 weekday afternoon)

Possibly due to the drought. A lot of wildlife has either moved to more suitable places or unfortunately died

Thanks to all who answered. It is a big area. I don’t remember much play equipment but I think it would be a lovely place for a picnic.

My guest has mobility issues, so having a BBQ was out for us, but I did note that the position of the BBQ was such that the water would not have been visible. Such a shame. Previously it was a lovely location for picnics and... More
