About
Apple Acres is Maine's organically managed pick-your-own orchard! We offer many varieties, fresh cider, as well as a 'Made in Maine' gift store and a farm lunch menu, cider donuts, local ice cream and fudge! A large playground and Apple Slingshot for the kids, 45 minutes from Portland! Our apples are sustainably raised, and next year we will be receiving our official organic certification sticker (a 3-year process). We also host 7-10 weddings each year, and nestle the reception tent right in our orchard! The last Saturday of September features a mini bluegrass festival and chicken BBQ, and we offer other events throughout the year, such as orchard hikes, or wine or dessert tastings!

We own land in Hiram so go there often. One of our favorite stops is Apple Acres farm where we go for their apples, doughnuts and ice cream as well as their beautiful view of orchids and far off mountains.
We try and go every year to the Blue Grass concert that is held at Apple Acres every late September. It's a great day of music.

Our yearly trip to Apple Acres is one of my favorite days of the year. The views are just so beautiful, the sandwiches and cider donuts are amazing, and the apples are the best you’ll find anywhere. It’s a small to med sized family run operation that you can tell is a labour of love. I’ve added a few pictures from some of our trips over the years. ❤️

What a wonderful orchard. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our young children had a blast picking apples and then playing in the playscape the in the back behind the store.

What a fantastic place to have a wedding weekend extravaganza! From the rehearsal lobster dinner hosted on Friday night at the cafe to the cider donuts served at the wedding reception (under the tent) this venue couldn’t have been more perfect. Molly made the daunting process of “making a wedding happen” a much simpler task and we couldn’t be happier with the outcome.

This family-friendly, certified-organic, hillside farm and orchard was a bit out of the way but well worth the drive. The shop had a remarkable variety of exceptionally well-selected goods and gifts for all tastes. Along with the memorable farm shop was a spacious indoor dining area for farm-fresh, homemade lunches. Fresh organic coffee and cider donuts were on hand as well. The orchard itself had a children’s play area and plenty of early-season apples waiting for picking. Each variety was marked with a sign. Parking was in a big dirt lot. I had such a pleasant time here that I’ll return in a few weeks during fall foliage.

I discovered this truly obsure, middle of nowhere farm/orchard while biking the back hills. This place is so excellent. They are famous for their cider donut which they make fresh constantly. This is a "U-pick" orchard great for kids and families but they also have weddings and a blue grass festival in the fall and they rent out the main house as a B&B for honeymoons. The views are spectacular and romantic. They have a store with all kinds of hippy goods like sipping vinegar and just-add-booze drinks so you can get gifts for friends. They recently added and excellent sit-down restaurant for lunch with a limited sandwich menu but the food is hearty and good. I've returned many, many times, sometimes just to get a half dozen cider donuts.

Picking organic apples, rolling the wagon up the hill by the giant oak tree. Hot cider doughnuts, buying 100 gallons of fresh cider to make hard cider. We love Apple Acres!

Pick some apples, enjoy the view, treat yourself to donuts, cider, or lunch! The view from the orchards are gorgeous. I like the view from the orchard higher up the hill behind the store the best. I love stopping in frequently and picking a small bag to enjoy the different varieties as they become ready and that way you can enjoy the changing colors. If we are in a hurry for dessert we can just stop in the store for already picked apples, pie, ice cream, or a warm apple cider donut.
The once a year Bluegrass concert is something we look forward to after going to the Apple Festival. You get to bring your own chair and enjoy an afternoon in the orchard listening to some great music.
