We love climbing the rocks and listening to the ocean at this peaceful spot. Includes a lagoon and nice bathrooms with showers.

GORGEOUS beaches! HUGE beaches, tide pools, trails, so much here. Bring a picnic, a cooler of beverages, a book, some other fun activities if you wish. Plan to stay the day. There are picnic tables with barbecue pits, trails to hike, apparently good fishing, gentle waves, warm water. We saw people on Sea-Doos, on SUPS, fishing boats, people on bogie... More

A couple of beautiful beaches well worth visiting for a nice walk or a day in the sun. Changing facilities on site but no food or water for sale.

I never thought we'd find such a large & sandy beach on the rocky coastline of Maine, but we did! And it is a terrific one. Not the same kind of sand we have in Florida, but certainly not dirt, but a coarse type of sand. There's a very small charge to enter the Park, and there are nice bathrooms... More

We would have spent the day at the lovely spot had we world enough and time. There were many happy people leaving the beach- by the time we arrived at 4:30 we were the only people on this great beach

Reid is an ideal family setting with something for everyone.Your first choice as you enter is which direction as they bring you to two different areas of the beach. I think the scenery on the left side is more interesting. There are lovely tidal pools and inlets off both directions for those not wanting the big surf of the ocean... More

This state park has wonderful seaside picnic spots as well as a sandy beach with surf (can be quite dangerous). There is also a small interior lagoon that is safe for small children to swim.

After reading all of the dire reviews about flesh eating bugs and killer undertow, I was afraid we had made the wrong choice; however, this place was spectacular. We decided to come here somewhat last minute while driving in the area, so we did not have a lot of time. Showed up around 3 o'clock and left before 5:00. We... More

We Southern Californians should probably not be allowed to rate Maine beaches. That said, we enjoyed strolling down Half Mile Beach. A few shells, not many bugs and an ocean. It was nice, but I would go nuts after a couple of hours. Popham is better.

Reid State Park is always one of our go-to beaches when we visit Maine. Reid has the best waves when the tide is coming in - just amazing! Unfortunately, this year we spent a good deal of time swatting biting insects, the worst of which were the greenhead horseflies. Ugh. Just awful. The mosquitoes come out in full force in... More
