My wife and I and our friends took the Introduction to Shotgun Sports class with instructors Molly, Peyton, and Bernie on Saturday afternoon, and then took a Fall Foliage kayaking trip with guides Katie and Seth on Sunday morning. The staff was terrific - they took COVID precautions and safety very seriously, and were able to help everyone feel comfortable. They were also very knowledgeable and great teachers, able to quickly adapt to accommodate different skill levels. We had a great time and would definitely recommend both events, each of which was very reasonably priced.

Anne Dyer was absolutely a fantastic guide for me, my son's classmates and my family today at Busse Lake in Elk Grove Village. It was a windy day but not too hot. I have traveled all over and did not know that this gem of a lake, biking and hiking area were so close. We will definitely be back. I have never seen more cormorants on one tree in my life!. And in Illinois of all places. Thanks, Anne for helping us get out and into nature today! Grateful to you and LL Bean!

We saw a nighttime cross country ski activity on Friday, but weren't able to make it, so we asked if we can arrange a private class. We had some experience from the intro course (also a great experience), and had a wonderful time cross country skiing around Pineland farms after dark with our instructor, Leigh. You can only do this with LL Bean- the farm is closed to everyone else at night. Leigh was wonderful, she is very knowledgeable and a great guide for cross country skiing. She gave us some tips as she took us on the trails-- we went through the woods and fields and had a wonderful time overall.

Our family did the the Archery Discovery Course and we enjoyed it very much. It was a lot of fun and the instructors very experienced, friendly and helpful. It's great to get into touch with a new sport and we decided to look for a school back in Germany to learn more. The course itself takes place on Pineland Farms. But be careful: The farm is huge and we first accidently went to a veterans archery course which also took place that day at the same time :)

Highly encourage people to take advantage of this Bean offering. We love the stand up paddle board option and have done it multiple times. They take you to the Royal River in Yarmouth. It’s a beautiful spot and excellent for beginner paddle boarder but still plenty of fun and beauty for those that are more experienced!
