There's way too much clothing that's made in China and other far away places like Vietnam. The Bean brand is all about Maine and the merchandise at one time was made mostly in the U.S. But these days the Maine-ness of Bean is just its...More

We have enjoyed this retailer for decades and no trip to Maine is complete without a visit to Bean. You can spend hours wondering through the campus. Everything we have ever purchased from Bean in the highest quality. If you think Bean is just an...More

This is the first place to go in Freeport. You can find all kinds of bargains here on returns or very slightly imperfect merchandise. It’s worth going before you pay full price in the regular store. Left here with some great things.

Another trip to LL Bean for Christmas shopping. We got lots of items today and it happened to be a 25 percent off sale. Got a lot of items I've been wanting for a while.

On a bitter cold day, we enjoyed the Northern Lights Celebration at LLBean drinking hot chocolate in the Warming Hut and taking pictures amongst the forest of beautifully lit Christmas in front of the Flagship store.

I have been an LL Bean shopper for years and had never been to the store. Took a trip to Maine and spent the day at the complex. The store is awesome and the town of Freeport is full of shopping and eateries. A must...More

Not a good place to visit with a credit card. So many things I want to buy? Beautiful layout, spacious aisles, great place to shop for Christmas.

LLBean fashion gets old after a while and at the prices they charge I’m not a fan. I recommend the boots but you can find the same outerwear and clothing for half the price without the name attached.

LL Bean is brilliant. If you are anywhere near Freeport this is a must visit. First, they are open 24 hours - how awesome is this. Second, they offer great customer service - especially if you bring in your current item for help. LL Bean...More

LL Bean actually has the factory store, a furniture store and an Outlet store all in down town Freeport. We visited off season and had no problem finding parking in the main lot. The "campus" which is the only way I can think to describe...More

Don’t think so. We have always left our dogs outside with one of us. You should call customer services they are very friendly. I have called them just to ask how the roads were in the winter before I made the 3 hour trip... More

There is a campus of stores and also a restaurant opposite. Lobster rolls etc. I think 2 to 3 hours including lunch.

We are renting a car from Boston and driving up to Maine. We plan to leave Boston early on a Monday morning around 7:00 am ish. We have a hotel room in Boothbay Harbor for 4 nights and will fly home from Portland at 2:00pm on that Friday. On the drive from Boston we plan to make a stop in New Hampshire (still undecided). We are planning to stop in Freeport on the way to Boothbay Harbor to stop at the L.L. Bean factory store. Our family are huge L.L. Bean fans. We have a Whale...More

Not sure how much time you want to spend in the car just getting to/from places... but be aware that Boothbay Harbor to Bar Harbor/Acadia National Park is a 3-hour drive, (one-way without en-route stops) under ideal conditions -- probably longer on most summer days... that's 6 hours of driving for 6-8 hours (at most) sightseeing/exploring etc. Only you can decide if it's worth seeing world-class ocean scenery, but I'd give serious thought to dropping a night in Boothbay and adding one in Bar...More
