Rooster Brother bills itself as "The Store for Cooks and the People Who Love Them." That's an accurate description. The upstairs has a great variety of everything you need if you love to cook. We visit Ellsworth often and my wife always finds something she needs or hasn't found elsewhere. Downstairs they have an excellent selection of teas, a good... More

A must stop for a snack, home made cookies, soup or lunch. The store has everything you can think of on your Christmas list as well after you eat. One stop shop.

Two story building with wine, deli meats and cheeses, and coffee, etc on the ground floor and all kinds of kitchen tools and things on the upper floor. Coffees included specialties you could order to take home as well as brewed for drinking there. Nice selection of sandwiches and other take out food. This is not an eatery so the... More

We read about this emporium and had to visit. The cookshop is very comprehensive and staffed by a gang of charming people. The deli in the basement had very good coffee and we bought ham rolls to go. The bread was the best we tasted in New England and the ham was thickly sliced and full of flavour

Awesome kitchen store. As a somebody that loves to cook, it is a great store to go in and just walk around in. There is just something different about it. I picked up some great cookbooks and a couple of xmas gifts. If you are looking for something to do on a lazy afternoon, go in for a couple of... More

Stopped in for a chai latte and took out two lovely ham sandwiches on a bakery roll that were quite nice. We ate outside at a picnic table by a quiet lovely river. This is a coffee shop/kitchen store with food. Not an Attraction!!!!!

My friend that lives in Ellsworth go to Roosters every day for his morning coffee. I tagged along and true as Bob I was hooked as well. Not only do they have excellent coffee, they also have a deli with delicious goodies that they prepare in the kitchen, up-upstairs. The wine selection is also impressive. When I look at this... I had been searching Ellsworth for an excellent Chai Latte - Dunkin Donuts just doesn't do it as it tastes like pure sugar. We went into Rooster Brothers looking for a replacement spoon (for cooking) and after purchasing much more than the spoon (great kitchen store) we were quite happy to find the barista downstairs. There's also a lovely area,... More

I love baking. The up stairs store has all the hard to find baking needs. From knives to baking pans and much much more. Downstairs has home brewed coffee, and select wines to purchase. The atmosphere is quaint.

I just had to write a review for this one. Quite simply the best short americano I have ever had. I don't know what they do different, but the flavour was just awesome. I did see that the beans are all roasted right there. And....I bought their roasted almonds (no salt). I eat tons of almonds and these were roasted... More
