We go to the Brother when we need a piece of kitchen equipment...or a quick shot of espresso...or coffee beans...or gifts. More recently we've come to appreciate them as the best source in Ellsworth for value-priced wines - check the discount rack!

One of only a few places that have espresso in this area so we stopped for a latte for me. He got an Americano and we got a ginger/molasses cookie to split. Oh man, what a cookie! OK, coffee good, too, and great with the cookie. Got looking at their wine selection and picked up 2 good values. People were... More

I live in the area and visit often. Coffee is excellent, muffin, cookie or bread ,whatever breakfast snack , is is always good. The owner is usually in the store. I have relied on him many times to choose the correct wine for a summer gathering or just a special dinner. Excellent deli selections are available, cheeses, chicken salad and... More

As much as I appreciate the selection of items, what I like best about Rooster Brothers is the staff. Whenever I have a question (and I always do), they either know the answer, or find someone who does. There is none of that typical attempt to answer questions they don't know, they reach out for a staff member who has... More

Every time I shop here, I learn something new and I find something new! This is where I do my Christmas shopping...and everyone loves and uses their gifts! Rooster Brothers has me covered from baking, to towels, to wine, to cheeses, to snacks, to paper products, to tea, to chocolates and on and on! The staff is always so helpful... More

Wonderful place to shop for kitchen supplies, gourmet foods and little trinkets. A little pricey but high quality items.

I used to think the folks in Rooster Brother were not that friendly, but there has been a shift in recent years. This is a pleasant spot for a double espresso, a specialty kitchen item (oyster shucking gloves, anyone) or a Maine-themed gift. They have some very drinkable value-priced wines, as well.

It's always fun to go to Rooster Brother. It is usually for recently roasted coffee, but there is also a very good specialty market with difficult to find Asian and Italian items and fabulous cheeses. If one is early in the summer season (June or early July,) the upstairs at RB is a wonderful stop. At that time there is... More
