This was very though provoking and powerful experience. Thankfully, not having ever lived through war this museum did an excellent job of allowing you to get a feel for the experience. I most appreciated the room where you sit and learn about the story of the bombings of the town. It had lights and visual affects and it even played... More

The museum is well laid out and we were given an English translation to help us read the signs. The museum really makes you appreciate the need for peace and to think of ways that this could be achieved. some of the signs were written in over flowery language but that is a matter of taste. A great place to... More

There is not much of the original Gernika left. As Picasso's famous painting suggests it was almost bombed to the ground. What there is there now is a monument to world peace and the hope for resolution of bloody conflict. The museum has installations and rooms where the experience of war are captured in a haunting and moving way. All... More

The importance of the Guernica tree and its symbolism to Basque people is in full display. I would have liked a little more information on the bombing and how it influenced Picasso's Guernica painting. Overall, a great place to visit.

Although they did have an english language translation, it really wasn't easy to follow. There were lots of images of people's interpretations of peace or the opposite, but rather simplistic. It wasn't what I was expecting from such a significant site.

This museum is about peace and teaching tolerance throughout the world. It was extremely well done! It has a children's section. It is about the bombing of Gernika but also about awareness on the culture of peace everywhere. There was a printed guide in English that we were given to guide us through the museum. There was also a short... More

Interesting, informative and well-presented with films and presentations not only concerning the bombing of Gernika but also other conflicts. Several language guides as most of the posters and explications are in Basque and Spanish. Fully accessible to wheelchair users.

I think this is one of the most moving museums I've been to: the simulation of the house before being bombed was stunning. There was also a visiting exhibition including films of survivors of the civil war and their searches for recognition, their families and identities. Came out determined to find out more about this conflict: amazing

I had a flying visit recently to Guernica and was contemplating going back on the train to Bilbao without popping in here. I'm flag I did! It's not the biggest Musuem you will visit in you lifetime but it is compact and has a lot to offer not just on the atrocities of 1937 but about peace in general and... More

This a very well-presented museum: very interesting special international exhibition on needlework as an expression of experience of violence and wishes for peace. There are workshops to be held along with the exhibition. (quilts, patchwork and arpilleras) the permanent exhibiton has 5 main parts, each well done. The first is about understand what Peace is. It is thoughtful and inclusive... More
