We stayed at the campground and tubed down the river. The owner was very helpful and nice. She gave us great tips on things to do. Campground is small but was perfect for our family. We had two sites and they were clean and not close to others so we didn't have to worry about our dog visiting other people.…

We loved the trip with our grandsons. Very relaxing yet exciting enough for 8 and 9 year old boys. Owners are friendly and offer all the details needed for a safe, fun trip. We will definitely do again!

BullFrog run a great trip from the Forks to Caratunk. They are friendly and make sure you know all the details for a safe trip. They wait at the end of the trip and make sure you do not miss the take out. Great day on the kennebec for $25.

We did the Forks Tubing Trip yesterday for the second year in a row with Bullfrog Adventures. It's a beautiful, relaxing 8-mile trip, perfect for any age. Our group ranged from 8 to 72 years old. Love the self-guided experience. Steve and Tammy are wonderful guides: we met at their basecamp where they gave us life jackets and made sure we were all set to go. As they drove us up to where we would put in, they pointed out all the key locations for us along the river and gave specifics on where we would be taking out. They are extremely knowledgeable about everything regarding tubing and rafting in the region (have been running these trips for 16 years). We were on the water about 12 minutes before the bubble from the dam release reached us (timing was exactly what Steve said would happen) and just loved the feeling of the current picking up and the water rising. It's a cool experience! The rapids along the trip are not intimidating - just big enough to add a bit of excitement but nothing that would tip a tube. Crusher hole was a highlight for the kids. They were able to ride the standing wave 4 times before it dissipated and it was a great lunch spot (definitely worth renting a cooler tube to bring along all your food and drinks). One more thing - the tubes that we used are Steve's own design. They have a comfortable sling to recline in, so 3 hours on the river go by in luxury. :) Can't say enough about Bullfrog Adventures. We look forward to many more trips with them in the future. …
