Great place to walk along the coast in one of the prettiest beaches in Maine. You can walk several miles if you want to.

Located in a high tourist district, many surrounding community beaches fill quickly for parking and you miss out unless you get there early. This beach is just north of Kennebunk, so the tourism is not so heavy. The beach requires a pass which you need...More

I guess that this beach is lovely on a summers day - a wide soft sand area - unfortunately we were on a Fall Foilage tour and the weather was awful! Could not really appreciate the benefit.

Such a beautiful location! Visited in October so it was pet friendly all day. Got to see some wonderful fall colors too. Very large beach.

In late September, in Maine, on a beach? YES! What a great spot! Chaise lounges are on the beach for your use and the three mile space is great for "a walk along the beach" without crowds. Would love to come back here again

This is a nice and relaxing beach. There is a 10/12 foot tide so in the morning, you can walk far out and enjoy a wonderful view. The kids loved walking on the rocks and finding hermit crabs. You will need to purchase a parking...More

This beach has off street parking only, and I believe costs 20$ to park. Having said that, it is a great beach for taking a walk. Quiet and clean.

We were there off season so it was fine while we were there….but I think we read on a Maine travel website that dogs are allowed before 8:00am and after 6:00pm during beach going season. It's a lovely beach! Have fun!

Things to do with young kids within an hour of Kennebunkport (18 Replies)
We are renting a house at Goose Rocks Beach (Kennebunkport) at the end of June. We have been here twice before so we are somewhat familiar with the Kennebunkport and Ogunquit areas (although any suggestions off the beaten path would be great!). And just a side note, my boys who are 3 and 7 LOVE trains! We did visit the seashore trolley museum in Kennebunkport last time and they thought it was great, so any other train related suggestions would be helpful! Anyway, looking for day trip...More

We go to Kennebunkport every summer, kids 5 and 14. Last summer we went to LLBean. It was closer than I thought. They have great walk on adventures some free , some for little money. My oldest and hubby did the clay shooting. Not for young people of course but they thought the instructors were awesome and it was well put together. Check out their web site for stuff for younger ones. We also really enjoy the lobster boat cruise out of Kennebunkport so much that we went 2 yrs in a row. Its...More

Going to Kbunkport next weekend-what to do in mid-May? (7 Replies)
My husband and I are visiting for the first time next week (Thurs-Sun) and we need to know what to do in mid-May? I have a business obligation one day and our accomodations are all set, but we need to know the best places to eat (that are open off-season) and what else to do. My hubby loves to fish, and we hope to enjoy some scenic views of the ocean, the town and the beach. We'll be staying near Goose Rocks Beach. Thanks!!

We were in Kennebunkport this past Friday. Almost all of the stores and restaurants are now open. It's a fun port to walk around and have a browse at the shops. If the Clam Shack is open,(it wasn't when we were there), be sure to try their lobster rolls, scallops or fried clams....truly the best we've tasted anywhere and worth every penny. Take a drive up past Walker's Point....breathtaking scenery!
