We almost paid to go into the Two Lights State Park and then saw the sign that there are no views of the lighthouses from there, so we turned around and went down the road a short distance to an actual location where we could view them. As an added bonus, there was some rocky beach area where we were able to find a few seashells. We noticed several people walking up a grassy hill next to the parking area and when we went up there, the view was so beautiful of the rocky coastline and we could see the second lighthouse in the distance, too.

Lovely state park. Parking costs $7 pp (on the honor system, just put cash in the lockbox). Access to the rocky beach is a 2 minute walk. NOT appropriate for anyone with mobility issues.

Important to note that neither of the lighthouses are open to the public, and actually are outside of the stare park.

My husband and 2/5 year old Chocolate English Lab stopped here while in Portland, ME visiting relatives. Always stop here while in Maine. Great views and mild level rock climing along the ocean. There is also a small restaurant here with some inside seating and plenty of outdoor picnic tables. Great also for photos.

Beautiful and accessible with hiking trails and lots of ocean access. It's not a giant park, but offers stunning views of the Atlantic ocean. It is all coastal rocks on the water so don't expect easy access. In fact anyone with disabilities or trouble walking/climbing won't be able to get too close to water. We sat for an hour just watching and listening to the waves.

We did not see two lighthouses and the one we did, Portland Head Light, was in the distance, but that did not diminish our visit in the least. We walked along the seaside paths above the rocky headlands while avoiding the steep stone steps (we are seniors) that probably would lead to even better views. At the time of our visit (9/21) there we no fees being charged.

I just wanted travelers to know that the lighthouse is NOT in the state park. We were very confused by this. In all fairness we went there during a storm. The lighthouse is down the road. Follow the arrow that points to the lighthouse or follow signs to the lobster shack. You do not have to go into the state park if you are just wanting to see the lighthouse.

Most people go to Cape Elizabeth but our hotel suggested adding this stop to our outing and we are glad they did! Great walking along large rocks by the coastline. Get a picnic from Scratch Bakery on your way there. Nice drive too!

My son proposed to his now wife 4 years ago at Two Lights SP while on a vacation here together. Three years later he took a job in Portland and relocated there from Georgia. It was therefore only natural that they should take their wedding vows at Two Lights, which they did this June. I have been in a great many Churches and attended my fair share of weddings, but standing there watching them make their vows against the never ending horizon of the Atlantic, and the fury of the surf against the strength of the rock, was as awe inspiring and fitting a place for a marriage as any I have seen, It is a beautiful park, and not to be missed on any trip to the Portland area. To stand on those cliffs is humbling, inspiring, and magnificent.

The Headlight is privately owned and is located at the end of a street so there is no parking. It’s a beautiful headlight though. You’ll pass the second light on your left before you get to the end of the street. Don’t try to walk over from Two Lights state park. You can’t see it.

great place to hike and visit in the summer. there always seems to be a cooling breeze 95 degree days are usually about 70 here. many lookouts and picnic spots throughout the park. walk along the rocks toward twin lights lobster shack, and see the coastal rocks and cliffs which look like petrified, or drift wood.crescent beach state park is nearby ,about 2 miles away if you want to swim or spend some time at the beach.
