We enjoyed every minute of the Grindle Point Lighthouse Excursion aboard the “Lively Lady”. Dominic was wonderful explaining the history of the lighthouses also the surrounding Islands and the famous people who live there. At one point we stopped to watch seals and saw several bald eagles. The scenery was stunning. Dominic is a competent and experienced sailor, he has a wealth of experience working on boats and we felt very safe. Tassy was terrific at teaching us all about lobsters and showed us several lobsters that they keep on board. All in all it was a wonderful experience for the price. We will definitely repeat this tour on our next visit to beautiful Maine. Thank you, Dominic and Tassy!

What a fascinating and enjoyable experience! We learned a lot about lobster fishing from our excellent guide, Sue, and captain, Nathan, and gained a deeper appreciation for the difficult job of fishing. Sue was entertaining and informative and gave anyone who wanted a chance to hold a lobster and crab. We also motored past two local lighthouses and learned about their history. It was a totally outstanding experience!

Our phenomenal tour guide and Captain made this a great experience. We didn't see many big lobsters as temperatures were moving them out to deep water. The guide was super informative and shared great stories and information about the area, the lobstering lifestyle, costs of doing business, and territorial disputes. There were opportunities to participate in clearing traps and rebaiting the "stinky fish" bags. I highly recommend the folks on the Lively Lady to teach you and show this art. The crew also went out of their way to help educate several small groups of elementary students on the dock before our trip too. They seem like great stewards of their community as well as offering us out of towners a glimpse into the lobsterman's world.

We were aboard the lobster boat Lively Lady, a traditional wooden lobster boat. Cruised by surrounding lighthouses, yachts, and islands. We watched the Captain haul a lobster trap on board and show us the lobster catch. The crew was knowledgable and personable and we learned alot about lobsters and Lobster men that we didn''t know before. Fun and educational, I recommend this cruise to anyone that would like a fun cruise with an experienced crew.

It was a foggy day , but Bert & our driver/ captain, pivoted & provided a great in-depth excursion into lobstering, seals & birds in the bay. Actually hauled in a trap & shared fascinating facts about the lobstering industry & how they sustain the lobster population. We all loved it & highly recommend this tour.

We loved our Lobster Cruise! Doug and Berk were very informative about trapping lobsters and the history of Maine! It was my husband's 50th birthday and he enjoyed baiting the trap and pushing it in!
I would definitely recommend taking a cruise on the Lively Lady!!

Sailed with these folks on their standard cruises. Son chartered a private cruise on their smallest boat for a special occasion (engagement). Cruise left from a more remote area than their main harbor cruises, maybe a 15-20 minute walk from the main harbor. Captain was on time, understood his role, and allowed a bit of extra time for the cruise - a successfully executed plan. Woman at main harbor was very helpful, too, with directions and more information. Nice people.

We did the morning Lobster Haul Cruise on a beautiful calm day that was not too hot. It was really enjoyable. We learned so much about the business of lobstering from the two guys running the show. They took their time letting everyone hold a lobster and were especially patient with all the young kids on the cruise who enjoyed having their fingers banded together like lobster claws. Would highly recommend this cruise for a real glimpse at a Maine lifestyle.

It was a beautiful morning on Penobscot Bay with excellent views. Crewman and captain were a delight to listen to. Did not do much hands on as there were numerous youngster aboard. Just enjoyed letting them have the awesome experience while 'catching' the scenery.

Awesome boat ride! We took three young kids (2, 3, and 4) with three adults. Both the guide and the captain were incredibly friendly and informative. The tour is pretty action-packed, between checking the lobster trap, watching the seals, and then baiting the trap on the way back. My three-year-old helped tear up the bait and put it in the trap, which was the highlight of his trip. Safety is paramount, and both the guide and captain wore masks the whole time. I realize there are a lot of choices our there for Camden boat rides, but you can't go wrong with this one! There were maybe 15 people total on the boat, and there was plenty of room for all of us. They had blankets if it got cold, and had answers to all our questions. Highly recommended!

Does does this cruise take you to see lighthouses? What's the cruise like? How cold will it be at the first of June? Do you have to book in advance and cost.

Best to check their web site. I think the lighthouse cruise is only Sunday. We saw many lighthouses and it was a nice trip. We went in late Sept. and dressed in layers. Probably the same in early June.
