I was there visiting in mid August. It was just the right time to enjoy floating on the Lake for a Camden evening concert. Additionally, check out the summer schedule for the Camden orchestra.

If you are in the area of Camden, Maine, take some time to rent a kayak and play on this beautiful lake. In July, it is hot in Maine, and the lake is very pleasant. Swim off the giant rocks, and enjoy the pebbly bottom while you take in the deep gorge and forested scenery. Maine Sport Outfitters ( south... More

Lake Megunticook is a quiet and peaceful gem of a small lake. No marinas or gas stations, just a laid back and beautiful place to fish or swim. Somewhat of a hideaway that is very close to picturesque Town of Camden, Maine.

We stayed at the Youngstown inn and walked from the parking lot...you can also drive, the hike approx 20-25 mins to this beautiful place. The blueberries were abundant at the top.. Just wonderful!

gorgeous views of lakes and mountains we took along my sister who is disable but the hike was not too bad for her - plenty of places to stop and rest and the view at the top is well worth it.

We enjoyed the public park at Barrett's Cove. The lake has a swimming area roped off. The bottom of the lake is mostly soft sand with some sticks etc. The shore area has about 5 picnic tables and grassy areas among trees. Not much sand for sand toys, but there is a sandbox. Great place for a swim, picnic, and... More

We stayed in a cabin at megunticook camground. It was right on the lake. One of the best choices I've made for travel. Will most definitely return. Wish we stayed longer. Great view. Very relaxing.

This popular natural scenic attraction is good for boaters and fishermen, swimmers and families. Fortunately, personal watercraft are not permitted so the area remains relatively quiet and safe. There are only a few public parking spaces so the narrow roads around the lake can get crowded and more narrow with cars parked in the road shoulders.

I enjoyed views of the lake from the hiking trail at Camden Hills that overlooks the lake. Also I paddled my kayak from thefree public boat launch on Rt. 52
