We had a great afternoon sail on 3 August 2022. The wind was just right for a good trip. There were dolphins and sea birds. Gus and Andy were great.

What a wonderful experience! We'd initially booked a morning sail, but as we were the only two we ended up switiching to a mid afternoon trip, and the winds cooperated. After the obligatory (and comforting) safety points, delivered with some humor, we were off. Captain Sean and mate Andy were so friendly and accommodating, knowledgeable and experienced -- totally relaxed and carefree for the six of us passengers on an absolutely stellar sail on beautiful Penobscot Bay, bright blue cloudless sky and steady winds 15-20. As advertized, Phoebe, our Lab/Chesapeake Bay retriever mix, was welcomed onboard and a hit with the other sailors. Will we sail again on Lazy Jack II? Absolutely! Highly recommended!

Wife, teenage son, and I booked an afternoon sailing on the Lazy Jack II. We had beautiful weather and a steady wind to make it an exciting experience. Captain Gus and Andy were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable hosts who freely shared their wealth of local and maritime knowledge with us. They were also experts at operating the vessel and we felt very safe and secure at all times. When winds kicked up they altered course to ensure we avoided overly wavy conditions for us landlubbers. The schooner is really a work of art and getting to see and hear the sounds of the rigging and sails in action is quite an experience. We really can’t overstate how much we enjoyed the cruise and the crew. Highly recommend it.

We sailed on the Lazy Jack II last night. Captain Gus and 1st mate Andy did an excellent job during our sail. Some guests Werte even allowed to help raise one of the 4 sails. We had a wonderful time and learned many good places to visit/eat from Andy. AND we got a full 2 hour sail— when we arrived at the harbor, another schooner that left 30 minutes after us was already back! Very thankful to be on the Lazy Jack— comfortable and plenty of room! PS - I was concerned prior to sailing about the lack of recent review. As is typically the case, when everything goes well, people are less likely to write a review. That’s why I had to write this. I don’t write them either but this schooner and crew are great!
