not really a great view.

This is path made from old rail tracks. Not very long, and not much on scenic. Kind of creepy near the bridge to Canada as well. Worst thing was way too many not picking up after their dogs. Stuck like dog poopies whole walkway. Shame.

Interesting to see history along the way
Jul 2020
Bordering the world's largest tide & Canada the waterfront walkway offered a unique experience in this sleepy town. Remnants of its historic past, with shipping, lumber mills, ship building, streetcars & an active border port are like ghosts along the trail. Very interesting.

It’s A Start
Jul 2020 • Friends
The Waterfront walk is a start. The City should work to make it even better. The good news is you can obtain some great water views including sights of St Andrew in Canada.

Useless. Trains should still be running on it...
Aug 2019 • Solo
A useless, and depressing place that hardly anybody visits. Should be a railroad there like it’s supposed to be. No wonder Calais shrank in size when the railroad left downtown. Would’ve been a great spot for a tourist railroad at least... Very sad.

Follow the river
May 2019 • Solo
This walkway follows the river. Just as you come over the bridge from Canada you see the sign for the walkway. Easy to walk.

Some interesting talk abouts
Jun 2018 • Couples
Some interesting talk abouts along the trail. If you are interested in the area this will add to your information and pleasure. It's not that long a walk and on a nice day can be quite pleasent. Visit the visitors center too. They can fill in the gaps.

Needed to walk off the excellent lunch we had at the Wickachee Dining Room.
Apr 2017 • Business
After having a wonderful lunch at the Wickachee, we wanted to take a walk around this quaint New England town. We ended up at the waterfront walkway and enjoyed the river and wildlife that inhabits it. It is not strenuous nor tiring and was very enjoyable.
