Lovely way to spend an afternoon
Jul 2021
We came to Pemaquid Beach Park late afternoon on a weekday and were surprised to find several others still on the beach. The cost was $5/per person to get onto the beach, but we didn't mind as the beach not only provided a beautiful place to walk, but also a wonderful vista as we looked out over the water. The sand is, well, sandy and not a rocky coastline at all. We enjoyed our visit for several hours, and were surprised to find that as we were leaving others were still arriving. A great place for a few hours or enjoy the whole day!
Do beware of the aggressive seagulls! They will take your food not only from your blanket, but from a bag or from your hand!

Covid made it too crowded
Apr 2021
This used to be the best beach around and why I live up the road. Now thanks to Covid everyone in New England comes to the beach and it feels like I am in Massachusetts. We have to avoid most times due to how packed it is. We now opt for an island instead.

Nice beach
Oct 2020 • Couples
The beach had updated facilities and soft white sand. We visited late in the day and there were few people on the beach. Good place to go if you are in the area, but not a destination location

Uncrowded, with crystal clear water & white sand! Lovely afternoon!

What a relaxing spot! at least now, during the time of COVID, and late in the season! very accessible; exceptionally clean; offering all amenities needed (they even rent chairs, boogie boards, etc.). we were just thrilled to sit on a beach that wasn't overrun, with such wonderful fine white sand too! lovely lovely afternoon! Thank you.

Sandy beach in Maine
Aug 2020 • Family
One of the few sandy beaches in Maine! Clean and well maintained. Bathrooms were immaculate. They have boogie boards, chairs and umbrellas available for rent. They also have a little snack stand but we didn’t get anything from it. It looked good though. Water was nice and clean and was just protected enough that the “waves” were perfect for young kids but didn’t knock them down.

Beautiful location, white sand
Oct 2019
Nice sandy beach right near the Colonial Pemaquid State Historic Site, with its fort and cemetery. This is a part of Bristol, ME that would be great to spend a long weekend in.

Beautiful sandy Beach
Oct 2019
There are so many rocky cliffs along the coastline in this area that this beach is a very nice change of pace. There is an admission price, same as for Pemaquid Point Lighthouse Park of $4 per person with no senior discount. Just a very nice place to relax, soak up the sun and walk looking for treasures like sea glass, stones and the like.

Great family beach
Aug 2019
We love coming to Pemaquid beach when in the area. The sand is fine and white and perfect for kids to dip in the water, look for sea creatures, build sand castles. It gets croweded on the weekends but even then just has a nice vibe. The beach house (which I think will be new in 2020) has nice bathrooms and dressing area. Also a snack bar with kid friendly food. Watch out for the seagulls they will snatch a sandwich right out of yours hands if eating on the beach. Parking is free but a small charge for adults.

Disapointed
Aug 2019 • Friends
I am sad to say that I forgot a nice blue sand chair and a blue and white bag with all my things in it next to the shower. I called to see if there was a lost and found , twice everyone seemed to blow me off . A young man did said he saw it but didn’t know where it was . I love this beach and it takes me 2 1/2 hours to get there . It was a gift I had just gotten I went back and everyone I asked just laughed like it was a joke . It’s sad they don’t hang on to lost and found and take it upon themselves to keep it 😥

Admission fee
Aug 2019 • Family
The admission fee is $4 per day for anyone 12 years old and up. Not $4 per hour as an earlier review stated. Most people stay longer than one hour for their $4 because it’s such a fine beach.
