We had a wonderful time visiting Pemaquid Point Lighthouse. The view is amazing! Bring a picnic and a book as you won't want to leave. There is much to do including exploring the lighthouse and out buildings, the rocky shore and the historic buildings. We enjoyed the historical documents and original photos along with the best view in Maine!

The views are amazing...One of the prettiest points in Maine. They have a tour of the lighthouse which was interesting. There's also a small shaded picnic area which you can enjoy the views from and clean bathrooms.... woohoo I highly recommend a to PPL and the surrounding area is lovely to explore.

We visited this lighthouse on a beautiful August day. Five people, at a time, are allowed to climb up the tower stairs to the top, where it is VERY warm. Lots of history and memorabilia available for study. The grounds, trees, and view of the coast and water are breath-taking, A very PLEASANT experience. 🙂

This light house is astounding We saw the waves crashing up against the natural sea cliffs. One of the best views I've seen from the edges

This is a great spot. Wonderful view. Cool lighthouse which the Maine quarter was fashioned after. The volunteers here are terrific. Yes, they don't get paid and do this out of the goodness of their hearts. Thank you for hosting us!

Quiet, even though peak season. The main attraction is the beautiful coastal views and the attractive lighthouse. There was a fisherman museum which we popped our heads into - not worth the trip for that alone. There was a long queue to climb the lighthouse as only 5 people were allowed up at once, so we didn't climb up -... More

We had been told to visit Pemaquid Point for many years but never had as it requires a bit of a drive from Boothbay Harbor or other peninsulas where we have stayed. I wish we had gone there sooner as it is a real gem. The rocky coast with the waves crashing, the mist, and some fog are just what... More

My wife and I visited the Pemaquid Light on a recent trip to the Boothbay area. This was the highlight of our stay! The ocean views are stunning, the lighthouse fascinating. The fisherman museum adjacent to the lighthouse is very interesting, as well. Worth a trip if you are anywhere close.

It's a bit remote but about a 35 minute drive from Newcastle. This is one of the most beautiful places to see and I have travelled extensively. The rocky ocean ledge affords beautiful views. You can go up into the lighthouse after 10:30AM if they have a volunteer on site. I was a bit early for that but did visit... More
