This lighthouse is on the back of the Maine state quarter. Nice place and beautiful cliffs. You are able to climbed to the top. The line wasn’t too terribly long, but they only let five people up at once and they won’t let anyone else go up until all five come down. If they just let a few people go... More

This lighthouse and the surrounding cliffs and rocks never tire for me. Depending on the ambient light and where the sun is in the sky it is different from my other visits. I love the contours and shapes and patterns of the rocks in front of the lighthouse and the weather in Mid October was beautiful and warm. Unfortunately the... More

Absolutely stunning views of the surrounding sea! A lighthouse which you can explore inside of, beware while very well maintained the stairs get narrower as you get higher and the last step is just about as vertical as it gets. A definite experience I'm glad I had and will never forget!

Located at the tip of the Pemaquid peninsula, 15 miles south of Damariscotta, this is the lighthouse found on the Maine Quarter. Best visited early morning or late (before or after the Town collects its "pound of flesh). Great on stormy days, but you are strongly encouraged to stay off the lower rocks. Use common sense.

A magical place by any standard. It's an absolute must if you're any place close to Portland, Maine. You'll see just what force a glacier can exert on solid granite. The scoring of the shore line rocks is a miniature model of what it did to the entire coastal region. The second photo is the mysterious sphinx of Pemaquid Point.... More

We decided to make the hour drive to this lighthouse despite misty weather and the lighthouse being closed for the season. It was absolutely so worth it. The views from this point are absolutely beautiful and inspiring. We sat for quite some time just watching and listening to the waves crash against the rocks. My thirty year old husband had... More

We happened upon this place from another travelers recommendation...this place did not disappoint. Small entrance fee (for grounds maintenance), easy parking, clean restrooms, cool rock formations that you can climb on, small museum and light house you can climb up. About 1 north of Portland Maine - great day trip.

This lighthouse is open to the public. You can climb the stairs to the top for an awesome view. The fee to go up is a donation and the woman that tells you about the lighthouse and light is very knowledgeable. The light is really cool looking at it up close. The rock formations below the lighthouse are awesome. Even... More

End of season so not busy wish I could go inside all of these lighthouses. Stunning views and a nice drive to see.

I've visited this lighthouse at least three times during visits to the coast of Maine. It's a lovely piece of history and the views are unbelievably gorgeous.
