The building is interesting and old. The sound system was very good for an old hall. They serve beer, wine and a range of other beverages. They had other treats for sale also. Only drawbacks were hard seats and only one bathroom on the ground floor; the other bathrooms were two flights up. There were wheelchair patrons present, so access... More

On a recent trip to Maine, I noticed that my itinerary would allow time to attend a John Gorka concert in Boothbay Harbor. I booked a room and bought a ticket online for the show at the Opera House at Boothbay Harbor. Having never been to Boothbay Harbor before, I didn't know what to expect. I found that the Opera... We have been to four or five shows here and all but one were top talent. We aren't big fans of blue grass music BUT we saw two different shows that were blue grass and they were amazing!!! the price for tickets is reasonable and it is general admission so first come first served. Worth checking out....Really!

We went there to see Hot Club of Cowtown. Great acoustics and can see really well from anywhere you sit. Only complaint is that it has no air conditioning so if you have a problem with heat be careful on a hot night. It's just folding chairs so a little uncomfortable. But for the price you pay for tickets for... More

On a whim, we purchased tickets for the Allison Brown show. This venue has really good performers, and shows are more than once weekly. Tickets were $30 and worth every cent. If there's a show here while you're visiting, go.

The Opera House blooms in the summer with a variety concerts and recitals. It's a typical historic coastal "opera house" from an age when small communities had such multi-purpose venues. We've gone to a variety of performances over the years. Whether you like it depends on who is performing of course. We always check when we are in town during... More

While simple inside it is worth going to if an Act is playing you wish to see....Saw an Irish band that was worth seeing during our recent stay

The Opera House is a great site for every kind of music -super acoustics, enthusiastic audience, and a wide choice of styles are booked. We heard blue grass one night followed by Celtic singers. The building's history and preservation add to the night.

We love attending concerts here. The shows are a variety of musical guests. We have attended several concerts and never have been disappointed. The second floor balcony is a great place to sit. The volunteers who have worked so hard to restore this Opera House sell homemade refreshments during intermission which adds a nice touch. A charming historical venue.

The Opera House is centrally located and so if you are staying downtown, you can walk to it. There is limited parking and so just be aware of this. The building is a beautiful old building full of character. The sound/acoustics were wonderful. Most of the folks that work there are volunteers and locals. Very nice people! They set up... More
