Captain Dan was amazing and was exactly what our small group of 4 was looking for on our first fishing trip in Maine. Dan is very personable, had great conversation, very knowledgeable and accommodated each one of us based on our different experience levels. He went above and beyond with making sure we each had a great experience despite the horrible rain we had. We chose inshore fishing this time but will definitely be back to book again for offshore as well! I would highly recommend Dan with Sweet Action Charters !

The highlight of our Boothbay Harbor visit was our time with Captain Dan. First he brought my 19 year old granddaughter and me to Eros Oyster Farm, where we learned about the fascinating business and got to meet owner Mike. Next we went fishing. While Dan shucked and we ate delicious oysters, Katie and I caught four magnificent striped bass. Unforgettable day with probably the nicest charter captain I’ve ever met.

We had another great fishing trip with Captain Dan. He is so knowledgeable and fun! We started off the day at the end of Southport Island catching mackerels to sue as bait for the stripers. While fishing Captain Dan spotted a whale that hung around for a while. We also saw porpoises and had two more whale sightings. What a thrill! My grandson and Dan caught many strippers capping off a perfect day.

This was one of the best days we've had in a long while during this quarantine. Captain Dan is laid back and knowledgable. He's been a teacher for years, so he is particularly great with kids. We all caught great stripers, and my children had an amazing time (even the sometimes grouchy 14 year boy). You will not regret heading out on the water with him.

After long travel days with our teenage daughters bickering in the backseat, including a newly proclaimed ranting Vegan...we were tired...both in body and mind. When Captain Dan arrived to pick us up in his center console fisher... with his welcoming melodic tone and smile...all eventually relaxed and breathed in the salty sprays and dancing sunlight on the waves. Thank you. Thank you for your gift of listening to everyone, with any comment, with value. My husband and I appreciate such gifted abilities which provide a wonderful Boothbay experience to even the weariest of travelers!

Captain Dan is a great guy and tour guide. We caught some bait fish and then on to the stripers. Action all day. CaptainDan is very flexible and easy going. We we will do this again, for sure

Been fishing with Dan up and down the Kennbec river and as far over as Small Point for about 12 years. As we would both attest,no trip is ever the same. What makes every trip special though is Dan's knowledge of the water. The places that have fish look no different than any stretch of water on the river but Dan knows where the fish are, when is the best time of day to fish and the right tide to fish his favorite spots. In addition he is able to figure out what the fishing are biting on like no one I've ever fished with. I feel I'm a pretty good fishermen but it is really him that enables me to believe I am.
Whether your are a newbie to fishing or fished your whole life you will enjoy a day on the water with Dan. He is one of those guys who really loves what he does and he'll share that passion with you. Final comment: Dan never takes chances on the water and he is always well prepared for the day ahead. That is something I've grown to appreciate (and so does my wife).

Had a great trip with captain Dan on 7/1/2019! This is the way to see Maine. Get off the shore and get onto the water! We had a productive trip and caught about 15 nice fish. Dan’s knowledge and expertise were a great asset to the experience. I don’t know why we hadn’t done this in our previous 7 trips to the Boothbay area. We were catching fish fish when other charters weren’t in the same area. Dan truly knows his stuff. I will book again next time we’re here!

I've gone out with Captain Dan/Sweet Action Charters many times over the past several summers. The experience is always great! He's not only an expert guide, but also a great teacher whether you're an adult or kid. He seems to know all of the good spots, dipping in and out of beautiful rivers. My wife, kids and I always have a blast on his boat! Strongly recommend a day with Dan.

I have had the pleasure of fishing with Dan several times over the years. Each experience has been a blast! He's a great guy and a good fisherman. He knows his water and knows the fish. You will not be disappointed if you book a trip with Sweet Action Charters!
