About
A Seasonal Dinner Theater in Boothbay Harbor, Maine. We celebrate the singers and songs of the Great American Songbook from the 1940's-1970's in our original comedy revues. During late July and early August we offer a carefully selected book musical for your entertainment. Enjoy our three course hot Maine fare dinner, while our Cast, who are also the wait-staff sing a cabaret. Following the second course the cast will depart the auditorium to change into costume to begin the entertainment portion of your evening. We serve dessert to our all guest so even if you are joining us just for the show we will offer you dessert at intermission as well. (Wednesday matinees are available during July and August and feature cold and hot salads and sandwiches.)

What a wonderful venue in BoothBay Harbor! Lovely little dinner theater that we attended on our last night in Maine. I booked 2 seats with a box meal prior to leaving home. We saw "Say it with Music" the music of Irving Berlin. The show consisted of 4 actors and actresses that were also our servers, plus the piano player. Each of those young people were bright, personable and so excited to perform for their audience. These folks will be the future stars on Broadway. They were AMAZING! An excellent boxed supper included your choice of soup or chowder, a sandwich on bulkie roll or croissant, coleslaw, pickle, a bag of chips and then dessert at intermission. Coffee, tea or soft drink was included. Alcoholic beverages were available at additional cost Suggested gratuity was $7 per person. The effort and enthusiasm put forth by this energetic acting team was outstanding. The music and story was so enjoyable. A program for all ages. I'm just so sorry there were not more theater goers in attendance. We would go again and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. What a wonderful way to close out our vacation! A must see!

We have been to both productions so far this season and we have thoroughly enjoyed both! The cast (who are also your waitpersons) are fun, engaging, have great voices and are very talented! During the pre-show dinner (which has been surprisingly good!), each cast member gets up and sings a solo piece. It's a little like Don't Tell Mama in NYC! The shows are kitschy, over the top, often funny and just plain 'ol good time fun. The cast members are SO enthusiastic and we are sure we will see some of them on Broadway or in national touring shows in the future! Another plus is cocktails and wine are cheap! Top shelf liquor on the rocks for $8 and a nice Pinot Grigio for $20! Can't beat that!!

Carousel Music Theatre is based in a country barn setting and has new cast members each year working on mastering their acting, singing and musical skills. This year's theme was based on songs from the sixties and seventies. It was fun and exciting. They were all very talented and the audience participated by singing along with some of the songs. The tickets included dinner and a show or desert and the show. I opted for desert. The chocolate truffle cake was delicious. The actors serve you and chat for a bit while waiting for the show to begin.

The Carousel Music Theater creates a unique country environment. As you enter the barn-like building, you are greeted by a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Although the setting is informal, the performers are definitely professionals. The cast of four was very talented as actors and singers. I consider the Carousel Music Theater to be one of the best values in Boothbay Harbor. Don't miss it!

We loved visiting the Carousel Theater for a wonderful performance of “Say It With Music”. The four actors sang their hearts out with the music of Irving Berlin.
What makes this a very unique experience is the opportunity to interact with the cast members since they are the waiters and waitresses if you opt for a light supper of chowder, sandwiches and lovely desserts. It’s a very unique experience because you connect with the cast in a personal way and then you see them on stage performing.
If you love musical theater, this is a very special treat.

This was a fabulous show with an extremely talented cast. The music director, Dan Wells, was very personable and had fun with us before the show began. We had tea and dessert and it was delicious. The cast members were also our wait staff. We had an absolutely wonderful time. I highly recommend it.

Last night we saw an Elvis Revue-it was lots of fun! We had dinner ( chicken pot pie) it was surprisingly good, and soup and dessert. The actors were also the servers, and were so polite and fun! The show was campy and fun, some great singers and fun dancing. My husband and and 22 year old granddaughter really enjoyed it!

Intimate and charming musical theater. The talent exceeded expectations. Fun for the whole family. If you’re in Boothbay Harbor this should be at the top of the list! Even my teenage daughter was singing along!!!

Is this good for my 6years old kid?

Depends oh the child's attention span. There is lots of singing....and the storyline might be tricky to figure out ie is my boyfriend really flirting with a new woman?..turns out it's his sister.....nothing risque, but not child-oriented. Some tunes you may recognize: Bali Hai, Gonna Wash That Mam Right Out of My Hair, The Hills are Alive with the Sound of Music, some from Carousel are less well known....I'm Just a Girl Who Can't Day No from Oklahoma....to name a few. Show at 7. About a 25 min intermission at 7:45 ish when dessert is served. Over at 9:30. There ate some dance numbers. Sitting close to stage is possible. Hope this helps. Actors are engaging!

Why do you not have regular ads/articles in the Boothbay Register? Until I found you with Google I didn't know if you were still open. This would be a good way to drum up business, yes?
Do you have parking space for 30 ft RV? I see a camp sight close to the theatre. I am not towing a small vehicle, so will have to drive RV to theatre.
Thank you

Hi, parking for your RV will be no problem, we have a large spacious lot with plenty of room for up to five large coach busses and plenty of cars.
Is there an afternoon show?

As has been said above, we have no more matinees scheduled for September. We have had at least one lunchtime show for each of the three shows we produced this summer, and plan on doing that again next summer.
