This was the best small aquarium we have been to! Perfect for our 5 year old grandson. Held his interest and attention the entire time we were there. Cost for 4 of us was less than 1 ticket at our city aquarium!

I loved petting the sharks. The touch tank is wonderful too. The aquarium is small in size, but well worth the trip. The college students are knowledgeable and quite friendly.

So glad we visited! Reasonably priced admission. We got to pet the shark and the skate, and then we learned about and held sea cucumbers and starfish. Never knew that scallops can move that fast through the water. Volunteers are very friendly and willing to share lots of information. Great little aquarium for those of all ages! Picnic tables are... Located close to boothbay, this aquarium is small, but neat! A couple of touching pools are inside, where sharks and other shell fish may be held or touched. Price is very reasonable at $7 per adult. Awesome view of the harbor. Friendly staff!

When we first walked in to this aquarium, I felt sure we would be disappointed - the price being a little high for such a small place. Boy was I wrong!! Each tank is super interesting with really unique animals and plants on display, much more so than other mainstream aquariums we've visited. Their touch tank was the very best... More

My 3 year old daughter loved the aquarium, especially the touch tank. This was a fun family experience for us all and the price seems fair.

The aquarium has lots of really interesting exhibits that have various kinds of fish and lobsters. The different lobsters are unusual sizes and colors including a blue lobster and a white lobster. There are touch tanks with sharks and all kinds of sea life that kids can touch. They also have a live demonstration on lobsters and fishing for a... More

We have been visiting the Maine State Aquarium since it's early days in the 70's and throughout the remodeling and building additions over the years. This attraction has great displays of Maine sea life including lobsters of many different colors. The kids and adults will enjoy the touch tank with the dogfish. This is fun for the whole family, young... More

Small, but surprisingly full of things to learn. Excellent exhibits and interactive areas. The staff answered all of our questions and were extremely helpful. A wonderful experience - we'll be back!
